Have just returned from a fantastic few days in Prague, staying at the Golden Wheel. I scoured this site for hours trying to decide where to stay but certainly made the right choice! This is a great hotel, in a brilliant location. I much preferred staying on the castle side of the river - more peaceful at night and great...

We have just returned from a three night stay at the Golden Wheel located in Nerudova street within the Mala Strana district, adjacent to the castle, The hotel has been restored to a high level of workmanship that blends the history of the building (orginally a 14th century build) with modern design and fitments. The room we were allocated was...

I decided to book my boyfriend a surprise trip to Prague for his 30th Birthday and booked the Golden Wheel hotel for 2 nights through Expedia. I contacted the hotel 2 weeks before we were due to go and asked for an early check-in and late check-out, Champagne in the room and a possible upgrade to a suite. They responded...

We spent our 2006 Christmas vacation in Prague at this lovely hotel. It was a charming place with wonderful little surprises in every nook and corner – from the tiny glass balcony on the 5th floor to the colourful art on the elevator shaft to the quaint yellow stairway just outside the hotel. Service was friendly and warm - a...

We stayed here over Christmas for 6 nights and were incredibly impressed. The service was impressive- the staff genuinely seemed to want to help you enjoy your stay. Because the hotel is so small it's also very ladi-back and thus you find yourself relaxing straight away. We stayed in a superior room and it was spacious, clean, bright and comfortable....

We booked the Golden Wheel based on previous reviews and the Hotel lived up to expectations. We stayed in the suite at the top of the hotel ( room 515 ) and loved the lay out and facilities. The design is very good and the split level suite is perfect for a couple or family. The staff are extremely helpful...

The Golden Wheel is a lovely hotel in an excellent location, close to Prague Palace. Our quiet room had a wonderful view of the Palace, as well as its own terrace (ask for room 410). The decor in both the bedroom and bathroom was stylish and modern - not fussy. Wooden floors give it a contemporary feel. The room was...

Very Nice hotel, we stayed 3 nights for weekend romantic break. Definitely recommend the location. Room was big and very comfortable, and very clean. We were located to the front of the hotel and were worried about noise but this wasn't a problem at all. The hotel doesn't have air con so this could be uncomfortable in hotter months. Staff...

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
