Have just returned from spending 4 enjoyable days spent at this hotel. Could not really fault a thing. Reception very friendly and re-iterating someone before they always knew your room number when going for your key. Room was lovely which overlooked part of Prague Castle (307). Breakfast was very good and hot food seemed to change each day. Little shops...

After reading lots of good reviews, i eventually decided on The Golden Wheel and was so glad i did. I booked a superior room which was spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard with a lovely bathroom. It was really quiet too as it at the back of the hotel with views of the Palace. The staff were...

This boutique hotel on a historic street in Prague is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend staying there. While it is busy during the afternoon, the street is quite lovely and quiet in the evening. The hotel is in close proximity to the Castle and only a 5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. The staff was so helpful in...

Excellent small hotel for people who are looking for authenticity in a historic location. Very clean rooms with everything what should be in a great hotel room: plenty of towels and bathrobes, safe, minibar, coffee-making facilities, big closet, international TV, hardwood floor, large desk, ... Every room is different and has its own character. Service is very personal: every person...

My husband and I with our 2 teenage girls stayed for two nights in mid June (not long enough) it was extremely hot when we go there. The gentleman on reception was so helpful, helped us with all of our luggage to the top floor where we found our beautiful "attic room". There was plenty of room for all of...

We booked our 4 nights at the Golden Wheel based solely on the positive reviews on this site and we were not at all disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were all sooo helpful! We loved Prague, but the Golden Wheel really made our holiday. Nerudova St can be...

The Golden Wheel is a very average hotel. It's located near the Castle on a very noisy touristy street. Because most rooms are not air-conditioned, the street noise is loud for all the rooms in the front of the hotel. (Friday and Saturday nights were especially loud.) We recommend you ask for a quiet room in the back. There is...

Dear guests, I´d like to ensure all visitors about the calm location Mala Strana. During the day tourists walking up the Nerudova street to reach visit and panoramatic view from Prague Castle. During the day is very busy street by pedestrians, tourists and residents. Nerudova street is historical, small with cobble stone. At night time street is very quiet, becouse...

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day stay at the Golden Wheel where we celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary. After researching hotels in Prague on Trip Advisor the reviews on this hotel were very good so we decided that this was the hotel for us - it seemed to 'tick all the right boxes'. We were...

We booked our room based on the feedback of tripadvisor. Admittedly, we have never been to Prag and have therefore never had a 'major disappointment' nor are we able to compare with other hotels (maybe this review is then a bit 'tough'?). First the +: - location (close to castle and St. Nicolas church and 5 min to Charles Bridge)...

I can't recommend this hotel enough. The staff where so friendly and helpful for every request that was made. The hotel was very nice and extremely clean. The location is steps away from Prague Castle and a 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants right around the hotel.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
