Amazing location, good value for money and the facilities were as they needed to be. The only downsides I thought were the large staircase to get in the hostel, that the breakfast was not up to much considering the additional cost and i really had to close the room door hard in order to make sure it locked. Beyond that...

Alright, here's my beef. They nickel and dime you for everything (like tea bags and 10CZK for 7 min of computer time), their washing and drying machines are impossible to understand and they don't know how to use them either, the towels are more like shammies, their WiFi is absolutely horrible (which makes planning difficult) hostel staff helpfulness varies widely...

The ground was made with wood chipboard and we haven't even where unpack! There was a big hole on the roof, unbelievable ! The bathroom and restroom were in the same place, so cold and not practical at all.

I really enjoyed my stay at Ritchie's hostel. Thanks to it's location (in the center, near the Carl's bridge) we didn't have to use the public transport at all. We did all our sightseeing by foot although we stayed for only 2 days in Prague. We stayed in a 10 bed mixed room which was very big and had a...

I chose Ritchie's on recommendation of a friend who stayed a few years ago and wasn't disappointed. I was a solo female traveller in a female only dorm that was spacious and had a private bathroom. The location is perfect - in the middle of the Old Town and close to Charles Bridge - and the service was second to...

I really enjoyed my stay here at Ritchie's Hostel. The location is about as good as it gets, and makes it so much easier to do your sight seeing when your within walking distance. The staff was very accommodating and Lenka's service was superb. She scanned important documents for me, helped me with my washing, and answered any questions I...

We arrived in the mid afternoon and was told our room on the top floor (10 bed mix dorm) which was so hot and so stuffy with just a small fan blowing warm air and just two small windows. We really wanted to check out immediately but considering just one night we took the challenge. Mind you we came from...

I chose to stay here since this was right next to the Charles bridge and the Old Town square... where all the activity is! The hotel is neat and comfortable. However, it was a bit noisy since we had people on the streets all night long. The staff was courteous and breakfast spread was good.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
