Thoroughly enjoyed a 5 day stay at the Wadstein last week. Hotel is very convenient for all the major tourist attractions, transport and restaurants and cafes. Very comfortable rooms, clean and modern bathroom and heating in room is easily controllable to any temperature. Slept well in very comfortable beds. Historic building has been expertly renovated and all facilities are excellent.... More

Everything about this hotel was wonderful - the location (close to all tourist attractions), room (spacious and comfortable beds), and breakfast. Most importantly, the friendly and helpful staff at the hotel (Marie at the front desk) made us wish that our stay at Prague was a bit longer. Would highly recommend this hotel, especially to those who are looking for... More

We spent nine days at this hotel. Its a great location, close to Prague Castle (about 20 minute walk) and Charles Bridge (5 minutes) and the Malostranska Metro Station (5 minutes). From the metro station the main railway station can easily be reached in under 15 minutes by taking the green line to the Muzeum then changing to the red... More

This is a smallish (34 bedroom) hotel conveniently situated a short walk from Charles Bridge and the metro at Malostranska. Plenty of restaurants in and around Malostranske Namesti The receptionist on duty in the small office just inside the entrance door was always helpful, and ready to give information about local transport and Prague generally.. Breakfast which was included in... More

The hotel is quiet despite its great location - 5 mins from Charles Bridge and very close to the castle, but tucked away so no noise from traffic or tourists. It's a lovely historical building. Breakfast was excellent - all tastes catered for. Room was cosy, comfy and clean. We had a split level room on the first floor with... More

We chose this hotel as the location was excellent. Quiet, with all the amenities and lovely staff who were all so helpful. We booked two rooms, standard and deluxe but both were equally as good. This was our 4th trip to this beautiful city, we took friends who have never been before and they were delighted with everything. It pays... More

The Waldstein was probably the best hotel I've every had a chance to stay in. It was charming in all ways. This was my first time in Prague, and the location couldn't be beat: just at the base of the castle, tucked in between Prague's beautiful side streets. Easy to get to the Charles Bridge and to Old Town. The... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
