The Ametyst has pretty, modern rooms with a mix of lighting options and a boutique hotel ambiance. The room I had was on the fifth floor overlooking a central courtyard for the block which meant street noise was non-existent and the double set of windows...More

Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighbourhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. Today, it is the place where everyone wants to live, and those who do, are proud of it. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the
world. This area blends expats, families, bohemian students and Prague’s hip community. It is a great place for breakfast in the morning, the best lunch places and a buzzing night life. After sundown, stroll down to Vršovice, the new center of the hipster, alternative and gay scenes in Prague.

Just around the corner you can jump on a tram that takes you through the town to the Charles bridge. We did this but we then walked back. It takes a 20-30min walk but its not that long when your taking in all the buildings, shops etc on the way. We went in november freezing cold, but really enjoyed the walk after some food. So easy all sign posted and you can always jump on the trams as many passing.

As far as the early check-in, we arrived early and the hotel graciously offered to hold our bags for us. They did get us into a room a little sooner than regular check-in time. It probably depends on how full the hotel is and how quickly they can get the rooms cleaned. I did find the hotel accommodating.
