It has everything: location, great and practical design, good food and excellent staff. My wife and I had an excellent 5-night stay in Hotel Josef, ending just a few days ago. We loved the design and many thoughtful design aspects (such details as having unbreakable tumblers in the bathroom); the delicious and extensive breakfast buffet & menu; and, most importantly,...

The hotel is in the Old Town, a 5 minute walk from the renowned Astronomical Clock! Fresh, clean, bright and chok-a-blok with free amenities (wifi, computer center, fitness center, DVD library, coffee bar) and intelligent, personable and efficient staff, this hotel was an absolute highlight of our stay in Prague. Two adults and one child, we had plenty of space...

I stayed here with friends. The hotel staff are incredible. They gave us the BEST recommendations for restaurants and more. I emailed the hotel twice to modify my reservation and they always responded immediately - it was so nice not to have to make a phone call to Prague from the states. The breakfast is INCREDIBLE. Everything is in walking...

We stayed at Hotel Josef for 3 nights in Oct 2012. The hotel is located at very convenient spot, at short walking distance to all city highlights. Breakfast is exceptional (probably everyone said it already). Staffs (in breakfast room, front and maid) are so friendly and helpful. The price is good. Really worth the value. Really love it. I recommend...

Great modern, comfortable, and highly functional hotel located in a great area of historic Prague. Close enough to the craziness of Old Town Square and all the major sites, but in a good area with great shops and restaurants catering to well heeled locals. The rooms are big and well appointed. Very basic design, but very comfortable. The wifi is...

We booked 4 nights at Hotel Josef in one of the top floor balcony rooms. Breakfast, location, service and rooms were excellent. Make sure if you reserve a specific room like we did that it is indeed available. Our first night, the room was not available and we stayed in the sister hotel down the street. The hotel was extremely...

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in mid September. We had only positive experiences. Customer service is terrific. What ever we needed, or any questions we had were very quickly addressed by the friendly staff. Secondly, the rooms are very clean, modern and efficient. I would suggest magnifying mirrors for women to put on make up, but that...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
