Just walking down the Neruvado hill and came across this innocuous place. Only wanted a couple of drinks to sit and enjoy the view, but decided on a "light" meal. My friend opted for the soup (potato and mushroom) and I went for the roast pork cabbage and dumplings. The food was excellent; I thought the dumplings were the best...

Nice food, good service. Quite pricey but worth it . Good for people watching and a few beers outside in the afternoon. Watching delivery drivers trying to reverse into the driveway opposite is also a gkreat source of free entertainment 😂

The hotel is on a pretty street near to the castle. The Charles Bridge is only a 5/10 minute walk down the hill. The area is busy during the day and deserted by night but felt perfectly safe working home in the small hours. Good range of food & drinks for breakfast which was included in the price. The hotel...

Found this by chance after walking around the area up near the castle. The food was excellent as was the service. We only used the restaurant so I cant say anything about the hotel facilities. The restaurant is very traditionally decorated and looks impressive so I expect the hotel would be very nice. My wife had goulash with bread dumplings...

We stayed here for 6 days over Christmas for our honeymoon. This is a great hotel and a perfect location below the castle. Its got some good bars and restaurants around and a great place to see the city from. The breakfast is good and staff are helpful and friendly. First visit but we will be back

I stayed for a week at Hotel Red Lion. The room was delightful and was beautifully decorated. The ceilings are stunning and the furniture is chosen with taste for a period feel. Everything was very clean, from the bedroom, to the linen, to the bathroom. The breakfast was nice too, it is your regular cold buffet breakfast with a small...

I really liked this hotel. Stayed for two nights just before Christmas 2016. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The reception is located about 50m away in the Golden Star but was no less efficient for all that. The room was warm and cosy with a good standard of furnishing and decor including safe and modern LCD TV. I very much...

Only ate at the hotel restaurant, didn't stay at the hotel. Walked in to get out of the cold and the rain. We were warmed up by good soups and goulash. Was quiet and warm, with good service and sweet Christmas music in the background.

This hotel is located just round the corner from Prague castle so ideal to explore that region, and still only a 10 minute stroll down hill to Charles bridge. It is up a fairly steep hill so might be an issue for some people. The hotel doesn't have many rooms and our party had rooms 11 and 12, both very...

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Romantic hotel Red Lion is located in an historic burgher house from the 15th century in the very centre of Prague. It lies directly on the Royal Route, only 400 metres from the Prague Castle and 500 metres from the Charles Bridge. All rooms have an enchanting view of Petrin, the Royal Route and the roofs of Mala Strana (Lesser Side) underneath the Prague Castle. They are equipped with historical furniture. In some rooms you will find the original painted wooden ceilings dating back to the 17th century. Hotel guests can enjoy lunches in the hotel restaurant with remarkable renaissance ceilings. The restaurant serves traditional Czech as well as international cuisine. Breakfast is served in the form of rich hot buffet. The pub U Cerveneho Lva invites you for a glass of wine or Pilsner beer. Its centuries old stone walls provide cool refuge from the heat in the summer, which makes the pub a perfect oasis to relax in. The bar, which dates back to 1350, is located in a lime stone cellar with Gothic vaulted ceilings. It serves a variety of hot and cold drinks. The pleasant atmosphere of the hotel patio invites our guests to relax. A limited number of parking places is available directly in front of the hotel. You can use free Internet spot in the lobby. ... more   less
