Stayed as a couple with another couple for a weekend in February 2012. VERY cold weekend, hotel was very modern and clean. Rooms very spacious with the added bonus of free wifi. Breakfast was full of variety with plenty of staff around. Dinner in the hotel was of high quality, however the staff could have been more attentive with drinks...

Fantastic hotel located in the very centre of the old town. Great for sightseeing. The hotel was beautiful, clean and modern. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic with lots on offer, room service was also delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Miro the barman. Only drawback was the bed, which was infact two single beds pushed together with separate...

We had a great time at the Barcelo. The hotel rooms are reasonably sized, modern and well equipped. The hotels design speaks for itself, stylish, young and modern yet fully appreciating its historical heritage. The young team is exceptionally friendly and very professional. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old city. The Barcelo will remain our...

Fantastic hotel, very modern, clean rooms (we were upgraded to a junior suite which had a small sitting area and separate toilet & shower room with a fab, huge shower). The location was perfect, the Oriental Cafe, Powder Gate & Omni Dum (art nouveau concert hall & restaurant) are literally a minute away & the hotel is right on Celetna...

Location is fabulous, close to everything. If you go for the Christmas markets as we did, this is an excellent place. The buffet breakfast has a wide variety of all foods, although the quality is basic, still fills you up nicely though. Our bed/s were quite hard and so not the most comfortable night's sleep. I say beds because a...

My wife and I arrived at Barcelo not quite sure what to expect. We went into a beautiful boutique hotel and were greeted with a free, warming glass of mulled wine (it was near Christmas). If you want a clean, classy, lovely hotel that you look forward to going back to then look no further. The breakfast was excellent. Everything...

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
