I stay here for 12 nights in April 2018. It is a great family run hotel, very clean and they will help to resolve any issues you may have quickly. The breakfast in the morning serves. They normally make you up some eggs, bacon or sausages to along with a platter of meats, cheese and veggies to you can make chlebíček out of. They also have fruits, breads and cereal out. The breakfast room is also the club room so there are some snacks and beer and other drinks you can buy whenever you want. The prices are cheaper then getting them in town. The hotel is a few tram stops from old town but it is not bad. I’ve hopped on the number 2 train and I was by the Charles. Bridge in 15 minutes. There is also a night tram spot at the tram stop to. The tram spot is right out of the door. The room, was about what I would expect at any three star hotel room in the us. Mine has basic all new looking furniture and the bathroom has been rebuild. You might want to bring an extra set of bed sheets if you want really soft. I didn’t have a problem with mine but I could see where others could. Overall, I would stay again. By the end of you stay you end up knowing the family that runs the place and it is great see a friendly face every morning for breakfast. They are also able to give you some basic advise with a local point of view if you need to find something or a service. I’m a native English speaker who does speak some Czech but I was able to communicate entirely in English with the staff. I know they had some other non speakers there the same as me they did not seem to have any communication issues.…
I stayed here a while ago and looking back, the ratings (on many sites) are way to positive about this family run hotel. Also it isn't a hotel, it is more a hostel type of place. Positive things: rooms are clean, ok breakfast, low price Negative things: Language issue if you don't speak CZ For business travellers there are way cheaper places to be found in the neighborhood. So i won't stay here ever again.
This is a very good , comfortable and homely B&B. The rooms are nice, it has its own safe parking. The staff are very curtious and helpful. Very good breakfast. It is very well located with the bus and tram stops just outside the hotel. Strongly recommended
Good location & hospitality. Own parking. Not far from city center (20-30 min by bus & metro, because tramline near the hotel is under reconstruction at the moment). No supermarkets near the hotel. Simple & clean rooms. Good breakfast & coffee. Owners are very friendly & helpful people at any question concerning you trip in Prague etc. Heartfelt gratitude to Petr & his wife for such relation to guests. Small advice if you travel with schoolchild. Take your & child ID or passport + child photo (3X4). You can obtain the local ID (Prukaz dite 6-15) at metro station Information desk. It lets your child to have go free by all public transport in Prague.
Had to meet a friend of mine in Prague and stay for a 2 nights for short sightseeing. Penzion Chaloupka exceed our expectation, we felt like at home while staying there. Penzion owner is very friendly and helpful guy. Breakfast was lite but delightful: we have choice of sausages or eggs plus wide selection of pates, tear or coffee, there was even great homemade pie. Kitchen is available 24 hrs an there is a selection of snacks and drinks, incl. alcohol (for an addition cost). There is only one restaurant 500 meters far from Penzion so for taking dinner you'll need to make a 3-stops tram journey to reach a metro station with meal facilities available. Penzion location is great: city center is in around 15 minutes far by tram and hotel owner provides tram tickets(for an additional cost). Small parking slot: was not easy to accommodate 2 big Volvo :-). Fortunately there is a lot of parking space around. Definitely will stay here again.…
