The whole hostel just seemed a bit of a joke really. Wasn't too hard to find and it is in a good location but after having rang (and emailed three times with no response) to say we were arriving later than the check in time we expected someone to be there but we had to wait for ages for someone...

On arriving at Prague Lion we were greeted by a graffitied building with a smashed front door, we had phoned ahead of time due to a train delay to ensure someone would be there to check us in. On arriving at the time we had arranged earlier the hostel was locked and it looked closed, after phoning the numbers displayed...

First of all, the hostel "prague-lion" where I stayed in a tiny, dingy basement room, or better 'a dungeon full with bunkbeds' HAS A SEVERE MOLD PROBLEM. I am having trouble breathing after spending ONE night there and I believe it poses a grave health hazard for people who end up inhaling the spores while they sleep. Other than the...

Average hostel, with a good location. The room is clean, but with the separate bathroom that has no lock... The breakfast is standard. However, i just stay for one night so that's ok. Don't expect too much 'coz u got what u pay for

About Lion hosten in Prague you can find two opposite types of reviews: totally positive or totally negative. I think impression depends on the room in which you stayed. We had double room with private bathroom which was comparable with the room in middle range hotel. In room was comfortable double bed, fairly large closet, table, TV, small fridge and...

It has a very good location, just 10 min. to get the city centre. It is clean and at leas my room was very big and comfortable, and the bathroom as well. However I am very disappointed with the service on reception. I had the whole day to visit Prague but nobody was at the reception so I couldn't use...

We were given a room in what appeared to be the cellar, converted to a hostel room. There was hardly space and there were five beds in that cramped space! There was an attached bathroom which, however, had no lock! The location isn't great either. But the amazing city that Prague is helped us actually end up not minding this...

This hostel is in a very good location, based 10/15 minutes minutes from the Old town of Prague. 3 of us paid for a private room and once in the room there were actually 2 spare beds and a private kitchen (complete with microwave/oven) with a dining table which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and spacious and...

OK, So First off, I was put in a Dungeon of a room that was more like a cellar from a horror movie than anything else. There was very little light, there were dirty sheets on the bed(and all the others), there was water all over the floor due to the co-ed shower that had half of a curtain for...

I stayed in this place few years ago and I left some coins inside the wardrobe, it was only few euros, around 5, but when i came back in the room, I found out the coins were gone. The only people with access to the room, apart from myself, was the staff. I complained and the receptionist was completely useless....

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
