This is a wonderful place to stay - a few minutes walk & you’re in the town center filled with shops, restaurants & beautiful sights! Blanka was a pleasure & provided tons of info. We stayed on the top floor (there are a lot of steps😜) in #5 - the room was huge, provided incredible views from the opening windows, comfortable bed & very nice, modern bathroom! Breakfast was served in the cellar which added to the ambiance & it was delicious! Part of it was a buffet & the rest you ordered from the menu! We would stay here again!
The staff was warm and very welcoming! The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. We could not have asked for a better location as this hotel was walking distance from the town and castle. Loved it and would highly recommend it!!!
A comfortable but fairly Spartan pension located conveniently a short way from the centre of town. Thick walls, stone floors and a sense of history make it attractive. On the down side, the interior acoustics result in voices, phone calls, cleaning etc carrying loudly; also we found the breakfast, although included in the price, quite meagre. Still good value overall.
This was a beautiful hotel and perfect location, nice and close to everything. They were amazingly helpful and accommodating. Very clean and quiet spot for a lovely getaway. We will definately stay here again.
My wife and I stayed at Pension Athanor for 4 nights in April, 2019 in the Apartment With Sauna. The best aspects of our stay are the quiet location away from the tourist traffic and the large, roomy apartment. Pension Athanor is located in a quiet part of town, a 5 minute walk across the Vltava River to the main town square. We had to walk an enjoyable, scenic, roundabout detour that went through a beautiful park and past a Jewish synagogue due to the closing of the stairs to the bridge because of construction. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Cesky Krumlov. Pros: - Large, quiet apartment with 3 separate rooms for bedroom, kitchen/dining area, and bathroom/sauna. - Quiet part of town away from the many big-bus tourist groups - Short, normally 5 minute walk (without construction) down stairs and across bridge to main square. - Very friendly ladies at reception desk and breakfast. - On-site, enclosed parking for at least 3 cars - Good enough Wi-Fi speed: 22 Mbps download / 1.5 Mbps upload Cons: - Construction on street directly behind hotel. Caused Wi-Fi outage the first day, some morning noise, and closure of stairs directly to town square. - No one at the reception in the afternoon or evening. - Breakfast buffet is pretty basic with choice of eggs cooked to your liking. Tips: - Take the informative Wiseman Free Walking Tour (in English) at 10:30am. Look for the red umbrella in front of the Tourist Information Office at main square. - Many big-bus tours overrun central Cesky Krumlov during the middle of the day. Get an early start before the big buses arrive from Prague starting around 11am.…
