hotel located direct in the city centre. View to the beutiful main square with many kindly bars and restaurant. Frwndly staff- Modern rooms and inside equipmant. Rich breakfest swedisch table form. Tasty disches in the hotel restaurant.
This was one of the best deals I got through booking.com. I was visiting a relative in the local hospital, so I stayed 7 nights. Old the facilities of the hotel Zvon are available to guests that are staying in Old Town Guesthouse. After talking to some staff members, I realized that rooms that are not quite de-luxe standard are then marketed as Old Town Guesthouse. The first 4 nights I stayed in a smaller room on the second floor, the next 3 nights in much larger room on the first floor. I loved everything about the place. Staff members who really care & are very helpful, lovely evening pub/restaurant - one can smoke there & enjoy different beers. There were many guests from Japan, Austria, some as a part of a group, others just sole travellers like me. The main entrance to Zvon overlooks the main square, guests of the Old Town Guesthouse can use this entrance, or separate entrance on Knezska. Trolleybuses stop by the post office less than 5 minutes away. The tickets cost 13 CZK for most trips (under 20 minutes). The closest supermarket is on the main square. It's called Norma, & you can buy pastry items for breakfast if you want to save some money & opt out of Breakfast incl. ratel otherwise, you can have a breakfast in Zvon hotel for about 6 Euros. Most of the time I had breakfast in a small restaurant close to the hospital called Honner which I will review next. For about 100 CZK you can get a really good breakfast there. In fact, most of my meals were consumed there... Great food, great value for money.…
I had booked in to the Old Town Bed and Breakfast but it now seems to be part of the Grand Hotel Zvon. Maybe they have run the two entities in the one place for a while. There is a small sign out the front that you would miss if you weren’t looking for it. I was expecting some basic B & B, but the room and the hotel are very nice. I suspect that the Grand Hotel rooms are nicer – according to their website, they are. But the room I had is very nice. So you seem to get the benefits of staying at a four star hotel (the service, the restaurants, the breakfast buffet etc) but cheaper. The hotel is right on the town square so a fantastic location. A taxi from the railway station costs CZK120. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious (for a B&B), very quiet and clean. The bathroom had a bath tub which is great to soak in. There is free WiFi which is quite fast! My only gripe about the rooms are that the towels are small. I have never seen such small towels before. Maybe it’s a Czech thing! I don’t know. So a minor complaint. The buffet breakfast is nice and the food is fresh and filling with plenty of choice. Also, everything is close by. The town square is out the front door so you can walk everywhere almost. There are loads of cafes etc all within five minute walk of the hotel. Would stay here again!…
Nice and large room as part of the Zvon Grand Hotel. Maybe, I was just lucky as there where under renovation. However, Good stay! Did not like the bed..very soft. Great location, right in the city. Good restaurant near by with great Czech food and beer. Breakfast a bit stiff, even for a grand hotel.. B'fast food was good staff was great!
We stayed in this hotel for two days. The room was big and clean. The staff was polite. The variety of dishes for breakfast was good. The hotel is located on the Náměstí Přemysla Otakara II square. We recommend this hotel.
