We were warmly welcomed by Sharon into her beautiful Riversdale Country House . The rooms are large & beautifully furnished and oh SO comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. Sharon & Wilson are wonderful hosts. We thank you both very much for all your care & attention.
We stayed for 4 nights in this fantasic B&B. Even at time like this , we felt welcome and at home immideatly. Sharon is such a wonderful host. We can just recomment this lovely quiet place. This will be not the last visit to Riversdale.
We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Riversdale, Very well appointed rooms and a really good farmhouse breakfast. Would definitely stay again when in this area.. Host was very friendly and helpful. A beautiful house which was lovely to have as a home for a night!
We rented the family room for two nights. Clean and comfortable beds and plenty of room. Sharon went out of her way to make a special breakfast. Nice sitting room. Bathroom fine all functional and very clean. Great stop.
One thing I've found about our visit to Ireland, is that the people really make everything worthwhile. The settings and scenery are amazing, to be sure, but it the conversations that really help to express just how wonderful Ireland really is. During our two week motorcycle trip around Ireland (thanks to Celtic Rider!), this was our last B&B stop on the trip. I think if this had been the first one, we may have been disappointed in the other accommodations we stayed at. We were absolutely fascinated by the sheer country beauty! Not to mention that Sharon and Wilson were very engaged and accommodating hosts. We were fortunate enough to have a room on the first floor overlooking a small pen with 6 cows and 4 calves... One which was born that morning! Unfortunately, the other 2 pregnant cows weren't ready to calve, but it was tremendous fun watching the new calves getting their feet and hopping around. There really is something soothing about waking in the morning to the gentle mooing of cows. There are a great number of sights to see in and around Inishowen (Inis Eoghain), including Malin Head, Fort Dunree, and the Doagh Famine Village. If you're on bikes, following the Inishowen 100 route is a great way to spend the day. At the end of the day, it was great to come back and relax in the pastoral setting of the home. Unlike several of the other B&B's we stayed at, Sharon and Wilson treated us like old friends. We sat and joined with their family, enjoyed a little sports on the TV, shared a little bit of whiskey, and ended up chatting and laughing well into the evening. I could continue on, but there isn't any need. If you're looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of city life... Something with a much slower pace, a natural beauty, and fantastic hosts, then Riversdale is exactly where you want to be. Thanks again, Sharon and Wilson, for making our stay one of the most pleasurable and memorable stops on our trip. We look forward to coming back to Ireland soon and will definitely stop by for another visit. :-) Bill and Angela…
