Stayed for 4 nights arriving on 17th May, the first date for holidays during COVID. On a holiday with GB Tours. Things were a little different due to the pandemic. The staff were masked, but their lovely smiling eyes said it all. What a great bunch of people they were, kind, helpful and efficient. Full credit to them all. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The view from our window was lovely. Lots of rabbits and even a muntjac deer. Rooms were serviced on request. The evening meals were well presented and delicious. Portions were generous too. A lovely few days away from it all. Would love to return.

Our stay at the hotel at best was 6/10. Clean hotel and rooms however very very dated. There were 4 couples in the whole place so was very eery, I don’t think this is just due to Covid, I think it would be like this at a normal time. We were meant to go as a spa weekend for my and my friend for my birthday, however date was changed from Nov to Dec, thankfully! As the decorations really spruced up the hotel, but If they were not up it would of looked very shabby... ripped sofa in the lobby which looked awful. Rooms very strange lay outs! Watch out for the electrics! When we turned the hair dryer on the tv turned off every time!! Plus a timer was set for 7:15 am on the tv which woke us up!! I must say the staff were very nice and helpful! We were not pleased with the restaurant dinner options... hardly anything to choose from and very bland. The pool was nice, very warm 👍 Was a little strange going round the back of hotel to get to swimming pool... was slightly dated too. Think they definitely need to modernise the place! If you go, go at Christmas!! 🎄 the tree was beautiful. Overall we would say 6/10 at a push, don’t think we would stay again.

By far the best dog friendly hotel Iv stayed at. My little doggy was provided with a bed, bowls and a couple of toys. He was so happy with his ball. All items appeared brand new. Hotel was clean and presentable with very friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel to others and will stay again.

We booked a 2 night break but only stayed for one. There were the wildest children bouncing on sofas and playing football in the bar. After about 90 mins of this - where bar staff were ignoring it - I went to front desk and someone came in and spoke to parents BUT the wildest bunch had just left. The father had his shoes off and feet up on the chair in front of him whilst ignoring the kids. I refused to stay for a second night and was told that I had no grounds for a refund. Really?? Social distancing?? Transmission of virus? Control of unwanted behaviour? I was also told that they could see into the bar area from the front desk. I have complained and was informed that I could have 50% off my next visit but they considered they had done no wrong. I have visited this hotel for over 15 years but WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Great and friendly staff but it’s not just that. The beds are so comfortable and usually i struggle with pillows to the extent I bring my own. However I packed so quickly I forget them. I didn’t need to worry as the pillows were perfect. The food is really good quality. One dinner - the sirloin Yorkshire wrap will be one of my best and most memorable. Unique and tasty. I also think how places deal with issues speaks volumes and a minor issue was sorted both swiftly and with several options. Love this place and the staff. Would 100% come back !
