We had a great workout with the fitness coordinator Kaffain, he really kept is moving and he was very focused. Jaire our cabana attendant was awesome, so attentive and perfect smile. Our butler Jessica and Zoe were very attentive they replied instantly to all of our request. The upkeep of the rooms need some attention.

Overall, our trip to Antigua was a great experience, but not a lot of credit goes to the Royalton. Nearly all of our positive experiences were with outside vendors, or made special by ourselves with minimal help from the staff. We were part of the Diamond Club in a swim out room. We’re a 20 something year old couple visiting for our birthdays. We have traveled to multiple all inclusive resorts, with a few of them including butler service or Diamond Club equivalent. Thank you Jessica and Antonique!!!! You guys truly went above and beyond. Royalton Antigua is EXTREMELY lucky to have you, and should focus on hiring people exactly like you. ROOM/RESORT GROUNDS: -The grounds are pretty, and the hotel room was clean and above average in how nice it was. The beach is beautiful, and the pool is nice with a swim up bar. It’s a pretty small resort, so it’s easy to navigate and get around. -The swim out rooms are on the main walkway, so there was truly no privacy. The swim out area didn’t get any sun, so we didn’t use the pool at all. It seemed like only a few rooms actually got sun. -Turn down service only happened for the first half of our trip. I’m not sure of the reason, but seems like laziness. -The “minibar” had no alcohol, just some soda and water. We also had to constantly request for it to be refilled. DIAMOND CLUB: Unless multiple factors change, the Diamond Club isn’t worth your money. It feels like the hotel’s focus is only on the Over Water Bungalow clients, and no one else. They boast about you being “VIP”, and the description online sounds wonderful, but don’t fall for it. -The premium liquor wasn’t even premium, and it’s mostly stored at the very poor excuse of a bar at the Diamond Club with no mixers. At the bars and restaurants, they will give you the cheap alcohol, unless you SPECIFICALLY ask every single drink to be made with the premium liquor. We assumed with our Diamond Club bracelets, we wouldn’t have needed to do that. -They also claim you get a $600 resort credit, which is actually a book of coupons with $15 or $20 off of single purchases. The only way to use any of the coupons is to spend a significant amount of additional money. Example- $20 off a $240 birthday package, or $20 off the $200 romantic dinner. -The hydrotherapy session included in Diamond Club wasn’t available the entire week we were there because it was “down”. -I’m not sure if things would be different if the hotel was at higher capacity, but could see the potential benefits if it were more crowded. For example, they are supposed to prioritize Diamond Club members at the bar, and you get an entirely different section of the beach and a separate pool. BUTLER SERVICE: We were assigned two butlers upon arrival, that we were to contact via WhatsApp. -One of the butlers, Jessica, was attentive and helpful. She would text us whenever her shift started and ended to see if we needed anything. By the end of the trip Jessica understood what we wanted daily and we didn’t have to ask. She went out of her way to talk to us when she saw us and would walk us to dinner or the beach. -Our other butler, Zo, was mostly MIA during his shift. We would text him multiple times, he would read it, and not respond. We then had to call him, where he would say “he’s on break”, or “he just got on shift”. When we asked him why we weren’t getting responses, he told us that he “doesn’t often check his texts”. Keep in mind, the only things we asked of our butlers was to make dinner reservations for us or to refill our waters in our fridge. At the end of the day, it was easier to do things for ourselves, than deal with essentially chasing Zo around. -Overall, in comparison to other resorts butler services, it was underwhelming. There was no proactive actions or offerings from them, and we mostly felt bothersome to them. FOOD: We heard many people complain about the food, but we honestly thought it was decent. -The Diamond Club lunch that they served at the pool was sadly the best food on the resort and most consistent food the entire time. -The breakfast and lunch buffet was standard and sufficed. -Hunters and the Caribbean restaurant are both good dining options for dinner. We went multiple times to both throughout the trip. -We only went to Grazie once, and left before eating because it took so long. Personally, I wouldn’t want Italian food in the Caribbean anyway. -The room service menu is acceptable, and was delivered in a timely fashion. It’s not as extensive as other all inclusives, but is 24/7 which is a plus. -Nibbles is AWFUL! Everything from the food and the drinks. Get food before 3 PM from Diamond Club grill/lunch buffet or order room service. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES: -ANTONIQUE IS AN AMAZING EMPLOYEE AND PERSON! She was so helpful throughout. It was both of our birthdays on this trip, and she made sure to make our days super special. -We got the birthday package one day, and a cake/wine to the room for another day. Definitely worth the money and a great experience. For both of our birthday’s they decorated the room, the door, and table at dinner. -Romantic dinner was HELL- don’t waste your money. We sat down with the head chef to make a custom menu, as one of us has a dietary restriction (vegetarian). The first course came to our table and was already not the pre-discussed menu (The vegetarian was served meat). After requesting to speak with the chef 3 separate times, he finally came to the table, and it wasn’t even the chef that we spoke to when we set the menu. He was blaming everyone but himself for the mistake and was essentially yelling at us. He completely ruined the dinner experience (that cost $200). After many lies from the chef and arguing with him, the food and beverage manager finally resolved the situation. It got to the point where we didn’t feel comfortable with him preparing our food, and our butler Jessica stood in the kitchen to ensure he wasn’t involved or tampering with it. I truly hope he was fired, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. OVERALL SERVICE: I’m not sure if the employees weren’t trained enough, or if they just don’t care. A lot of the servers at the restaurants had no sense of urgency or desire to please. Also, a decent amount of the employees came off as rude. We often had to ask multiple times for things before receiving them. CONCLUSION: the resort has potential with the grounds and location. There is a clear issue with management style or training. I don’t know if the staff doesn’t get paid enough to care, if they don’t get disciplined for poor work ethic, or weren’t trained enough. Something must change if Royalton wants to be successful.

The kind people of Antigua shinned brightly as the sun at the Royalton Resort & Spa. We were welcomed by FaithLyn who puts the hospitable in hospitality was efficient and helpful in every way. Cecelia made breakfast a wonderful memorable event for us each day. The passion fruit juice she prepared was intoxicating. The teams of chefs and servers went above and beyond to make each meal a culinary experience. Ashley at the bar prepared colorful drinks that looked like works of art. The beyond beautiful beach was impeccably maintained by Fraye who is always one step ahead of you and extremely gracious. The yoga classes were taugth by Kaffane who is one of the best instructors I have ever had. The team at Royalton Antigua were one of the most cohesive teams I have ever experienced at any resort I have ever visited. The details throughout the resort and modern rooms made our stay even more pleasant. This is place that you should not miss going to. It is paradise.

Went to Royalton for my husband’s 50 birthday. Had an amazing time!!!! The people that made the stay wonderful was Namiah and Amanda from the spa! Wow they were amazing!!!!! So good we booked back to back sessions. The private dinner host Linden and Shane the chef was a dynamic duo. They makes our dinner special. Linden is professional and accommodated our every need. Would definitely visit again. The bungalows are world class!! The butlers need a little better training to not promise things they can’t keep other than that AMAZING!!!!!!!

I took a trip here with my mother for her birthday. It was a beautiful resort with amazing people like Vanessa. The vibe team with Shane was amazing and so friendly. They livened up the place at night. I am putting it out there for more people to check out and enjoy the amazing staff at this resort. It was first class service from the time of check-in to the time of checking out. We arrived at our room to a Happy Birthday Banner with balloons and champagne. It was very sweet and my mom was very surprised. The waitress staff were all friendly and remembered what you like and had it at the table before you could even ask. All I have to say is GO ROYALTON ANTIGUA!! :-)
