Thank you for a lovely stay, we had a great time. The forest walks with Danilo, Jose and the other guides were fabulous as was seeing dolphins with Harry the sailorman and we had the best Ayurvedic massage ever from the amazing "real healing" therapist Rita!

I had high expectations for this place, having seen it listed as one of the best eco lodges in the world. I have to say, we were all a little disappointed. I think the problem was that we visited Pacuare lodge first, which ended up being the highlight of our trip, and then Lapa Rios didn't really compare. When trying...

Right in the rainforest, animals everywhere, beautiful accommodations, amazing gluten free food options (I have celiac disease)- excellent trip. Incredible guides who introduced us to birding and hikes - so knowledgeable about all things plants, birds, insects, animals.

We came to Costa Rica 22 years ago and fondly remembered our stay at Lapa Rios back then. We were very excited to have the opportunity to return and to spend 5 days hiking the trails, swimming in the waterfall, taking a bird walk and a night walk, spending an afternoon just enjoying our beautiful view of the ocean on our...

I had very high expectations for Lapa Rios and was not disappointed - the staff are all lovely, the bungalows incredibly situated and the whole experience as magical as I'd hoped it would be. To wake to the sound of cicadas and howler monkeys along with the rising sun over the sea is a very special privilege. The guides are...

We have traveled the world and simply put, our bungalow at Lapa Rios Ecolodge was the most stunning, unbelievably beautiful place we have ever stayed. Set amid the lush jungle of Osa Peninsula, sitting above a bluff overlook the Pacific Ocean, close enough to hear the crashing waves below. Unbelievable sounds of Howler Monkeys. The vibrant green of the jungle...

We did not stay at this hotel (and really, really loved where we did stay!) but we walked up the hill to Lapa Rios for lunch during our stay and were very impressed with the food! The fresh passion fruit juice was delicious and my fish tacos were amazing...they had a unique twist without being too weird ;-). Along with...

We stayed at Lapa Rios for four nights, and it was the absolute highlight of our time in Costa Rica. From the pick-up at the airport (coconut water and cookie under a shade tree, with a pair of squawking scarlet macaws overhead) to the drive in, to the warm welcome at the lodge, it was like entering a mythical paradise....

This is by far the most expensive place we stayed at for over $ 1000 a night for two people you want everything to be special. There were many pros and some cons: Cons: - uncomfortable at night. After it rains the bed sheets feel very damp and the rooms are exceptionally hot, even with the two ceiling fans. -...

Dear Sunnydene, greetings from the Osa Peninsula from all of us at Lapa Rios. Thanks for the pros and cons feedback. This is very helpful for us. We are sorry about the inconsistency in the food. We have identified a weakness in our local kitchen staff of dealing with large tables of families and are working on training them to...

As our first experience in Costa Rica my wife and I chose to spend 5 days at Lapa Rios on the Pacific Coast in an isolated, 1000 acre primary rain forest nature preserve. Lapa Rios was one of the first eco lodges and walks the walk of minimalist impact on rain forest mixed with a relatively luxurious setting. We were...
