We stayed at the Ferrycarrig hotel for what would have been our wedding day so we really wanted something luxurious and that's exactly what we got. The hotel is pure luxury from the moment you walk through the door. We stayed in a waterfront suite which had a very spacious balcony and a huge room. The rooms are spotless and really comfortable. The staff also surprised us with some lovely rose petals on the bed and a gift of some Butlers chocolates. The staff are also really friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble. I was very impressed by how friendly and efficient they all were and how professional they remained, even with the covid restrictions. The food was absolutely amazing. We dined in reeds restaurant on our first night and then ordered room service on the second, we were really impressed with the standard of food on both nights. We booked in to use the gym facilities as well. Each machine has to be cleaned down before and after each use. There are wipes and bins throughout to help you do this and the gym is also disinfected after every 1 hour session, before the next starts. If I was to find one drawback it would be that the breakfast service was quite slow. Despite booking a time slot, we still had to queue for a table and the staff were run off their feet. However, between the view in the breakfast bar and the quality of the food when it arrived, we had soon forgotten about the delay. I really commend the level of professionalism and energy from the staff in this hotel. It really makes all the difference in the world. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning.

We recently stayed here for two nights as a family of four. By far the best staff I have ever come across! From the minute you enter the hotel you are made to feel extremely welcome.

Hotel is absolutely beautiful and the views are amazing! I paid a little bit extra to get a balcony family room and it was worth every Penney. We had breakfast both mornings in Reeds restaurant and it was lovely. Every staff member again was more than helpful.

We had dinner both nights in the dry dock bar as we wanted a more casual setting as we have two young boys that tend to not sit still that long and again the staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. We were made to feel so comfortable and welcomed. There was a woman with short hair that served us on both nights in the dry dock bar, I did not catch her name but she was so lovely and more than helpful! After dinner you can sit in the residents area for an hour and have a few drinks which we did and the kids and ourselves really enjoyed it.

We booked in for a swim on our second day there but forgot to bring swimming hats. We were unaware that we had to bring our own hats but when I rang down to the leisure center the woman was more than helpful and said she had hats there she could give us. Again I did not get the woman's name but she was working on Sat morning the 8th of August and she was absolutely lovely and so friendly!

The hotel is completely up to Covid standards with all staff constantly wearing face masks and hand sanitizing stations at every corner.

Overall we had a brilliant stay and I have to say a lot of that has to be accredited to the staff. From reception to breakfast to dinner and to the leisure center, the best staff I have ever come across! We will definitely be booking again!

Stayed 2 nights recently with family and 2 young kids. Kids loved the place running around and enjoying the playground although could be cleaned more often as plenty of biscuit wrappers which my kids picked up

Pool was great with kids was very clean and generally staff were nice until second day when i found lady rude at desk.

Hotel room was perfect in terms of space but bed quality very poor, expect more when spending over 500 for 2 nights. Views from room 416 were amazing.

Restaurant and bar food did not live up to expectations, while food portions were big they lacked quality. However staff were amazing and very accomadating. Local beer too was delicious in bar yellow belly i think it was called. We had a set menu included but were not told price to upgrade to normal menu as set menu was very limited.

Breakfast on all days was very good standard and plentyful.

All in all we had an amazing time but the food was a let down for me. Views were great and we felt relaxed. We also felt very safe with covid 19. No regrets and enjoyed experience probably not at price point though for what received.

Thanks again to most of the amazing staff

Recently spent 5 days/5 nights in this Hotel.
From my experience of working in a 4-star Hotel in Dublin, I would say the thing that stood out most to me here in terms of a potential area of improvement, was the inconsistency in standards across the different departments.
We spent 1 night in the reeds restaurant, where we experienced absolute professionalism and great service from all members of staff, no complaints whatsoever. Supervisor very attentive in checking that every meal was enjoyable for us and waitress (Chanel) was very pleasant and helpful also.
Spent 2 evenings in the regular bar for dinner, overall positive experience. Food arrived in quick time and was worth the price paid. Worth mentioning that on both nights we were joined by a large insect which seemed to have managed to stay in the Bar overnight and throughout the day. Particular attention should be paid to this in future in terms of cleanliness as there is nothing worse than eating your meal and seeing a fly hover around your table.
Gym & swimming pool were positive, plenty of up to date equipment available in the gym coupled with on the ball staff who were very diligent about their work and compliance with COVID regulations. Would echo the words of a previous reviewer regarding pool etiquette where a degree of enforcement could be beneficial with respect to the swimming lanes. On two occasions out of the five we attended, we found that one swimmer hogged one lane for the entire 50 minute duration and another older swimmer, pool walked/jogged in the fast line for the entire 50 minutes, despite the rules stating this was not allowed. A small amount of checking in from the leisure centre staff every 5-10 minutes would probably eliminate this.
Had breakfast every morning and found it to be a positive experience also, but on the second last morning of our stay we found that the scale of inconsistency and ineptitude from one of the older members of staff really did drag the team through the dirt and almost completely outweighed the positive service we had received from the rest of the team throughout the week. This, coupled with a 40-minute wait for our breakfast to arrive, could have had a more serious effect on our experience if it happened at the beginning of the week.
Room cleaning also appeared to suffer from some inconsistencies. It seemed that every second day we would get a different cleaner who would do a thorough job (replacing water bottles, fresh towels etc) whereas every other day we had a cleaner that would fold the used towels and replace in the bathroom and not replace empty water bottles (That I intentionally left out on the table to be refilled) or soaps with fresh ones.
Overall, some good positives to this Hotel, however, coming from an establishment that maintains extremely high standards on a constant basis, I think that is certainly something that could be addressed here to ensure a positive experience for guests in the future.

Extremely disappointing stay in Ferrycarrig Hotel last weekend. Staff encountered in the bar were very rude on both occasions we used the bar. Very strict rude supervising staff failed to politely explain covid rules and assist guests in a friendly manner. Entire experience was ruined by staff behavior. I have stayed in various hotels since covid restrictions have been brought in and this was by far the worst experience. Food served in the bar was below par, frozen fish and chips served cold. No cocktails could be made and bar staff insinuated that the reason we had no fridge in our room was because we were not staying in one of the more expensive rooms. Even without covid restrictions that have completely taken over the hotel experience this hotel is not a four star standard hotel. The rooms are very dated, stains on the walls in the room, dated Tv, dirty lipstick stained glasses were provided at breakfast. Rude staff, poor food and service ruined this experience. Will never return to this facility and highly recommend others to avoid it. Over priced and overrated.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review. I am disappointed to read of your experience and do apologise for letting you down. I am very concerned to read of rudeness as this has no place in the Ferrycarrig service culture. We are mostly lauded for friendly service, I must assure you that I will be addressing this with the team. I have noted all the points you have raised and will be giving them deserved attention. I only wish we had the opportunity to discuss these issues with you prior to your departure. It is always easier to deal with a live situation rather than after the fact. Just home after spending 3 nights in the ferrycarrig hotel, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel . We were a bit apprehensive about going as some of the reviews were not good. Overall I thought it is in a great location with lovely views, staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, breakfast was lovely with very good choices of cooked food , all sorts of fruit , breads , cereals etc. Every table had its own bottle of sanitizer, boxes of disposable gloves if you needed them for handling various ladles and serving spoons. All staff and patrons wearing masks in all areas of the hotel including swimming pool area which we thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast time and pool time had to be pre booked but we had no problems getting our preferred times . Our room was very nice and clean too
With a lovely view. All in all a lovely
Break in a safe environment. Will
Definitely be back!!

We stayed for two midweek nights in the hopes of a relaxing break. My mam passed away two weeks ago, and this was her favourite place in the world. We made a reservation with the booking team to come and celebrate her life for a few days. Not for the non-drivers, but plenty of parking if you do have a car.

Some positives first - Every single member of staff was a pleasure throughout our three days there, the bar staff and cleaners in particular are very hardworking and so pleasant. The location is stunning, and very peaceful, the views from the bar and restaurant are stunning. The balloons on the doors for children are also very sweet, our little girl was delighted. We stayed in a renovated family room with a balcony and it was very clean and spacious.

Improvements - The main restaurant is closed, which hadn’t been flagged to us prior. As we don’t drive, it meant all of our meals had to be in the bar (which was fine quality still, but would be good to flag this). There was no availability for the duration of our stay in the spa, which is minor of course, but a little disappointing. I’d also suggest upgrading the wiring in rooms, so that there are plugs in reach of the bed, and also adding television stations beyond saorview.

I would have been happy to rate the Ferrycarrig higher, but there was an extremely loud DJ playing for a wedding that kept us up until early in the morning. As we have a baby, it meant we really didn’t get to sleep, which sort of defeats the point of a hotel break. We did flag to reception. I’m not sure if it was because it was quite warm that they kept the ballroom doors open perhaps? Either way, I wouldn’t write off staying here again, but it really soured our stay.

Stayed in the Ferrycarrig Hotel Wexford for 2 nights Got a great deal for 2 nights B&B 1 Afternoon Tea and 1 Evening Meal. From the day I booked to the time we booked out of the hotel the staff could not have been more helpful. The food at every meal - afternoon Tea Breakfast Dinner in the Reed restaurant and the bar food was excellent and the staff in each area were fantastic. Even with current restrictions and Health & Safety guidelines the hotel is managing to give customers a lovely staycation experience while keeping everyone safe. WELL DONE to all and definately would revisit and recommend highly to others

Got a present from our children for a 2 night midweek break and enjoyed every moment of it ! Right from the beginning staff could not have been more friendly and helpful especially the girl at reception . Very comfortable room on the 4th floor with beautiful view over the river, delicious dinner in Reeds on both nights and a spotlessly clean leisure centre made for a really relaxing two days topping it off with the Greenway cycle. Many thanks to all.

Arrived here 3rd June for one night.
Met at Reception with a smile and nice welcome.
Had booked Dinner for 7-30 overlooking the river.
Welcomed in by Manager and brought to a table with beautiful river views.
Then the Best part happened, we ordered starters, crab Cakes and Chicken Liver Pate, both were excellent.
For mains we ordered Smoked Belly of Pork and a trio of Fish with King prawns, again I would say everything was perfect.
The first couple of Pints also went down a treat.
Breakfast was also excellent.
I would like to compliment the Staff and Management of this Hotel, starting from the reception to Dining room,
I have stayed in very many Hotels over the years and this must be in the top 10.
I would recommend it to all.
By the way this was also the first day opening since lockdown, and the observance to measures put in place by Government were fully adhered to.
Will be back

Staff here are very accommodating & rooms are available on ground floor level. There is a lift from here to all floors including the bar & restaurant which are on a lower level & closer to the estuary (lovely views) There's also a ramp from reception to the room level so I don't think there should be any issues for you, but I would recommend getting in touch before arrival at the hotel to ensure you have your room in the correct area. Enjoy!

Usually breakfast is served between 7.30am & 10.30am, but they recommend booking a time slot as sometimes it can get busy & they are still trying to give people plenty of space & avoid the dining area getting too busy.
