Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Pool facilities are excellent. Spa was super - kudos to Katie for the excellent service and massage. Top quality Irish breakfast and plenty of choice. Room facilities are good with bathrobes, hairdryer and shower gels. Lovely view out over estuary. However, at check-in receptionist said 3 times "enjoy your complimentary room upgrade" despite me correcting her that I had in fact booked and paid for superior room with balcony. Makes me wonder if I'd have received "free complimentary upgrade" if I'd booked standard room? Evening food was average. I had hake on "chef's recommendation". It was over cooked and rubbery. My companion had lamb that was overcooked too - should be served pink unless requested otherwise by patron. While there was live music both nights the bar lacked any atmosphere at all. Not inclined to revisit.…
Room was beautiful with a lovely view, newly renovated, 50 inch TV with chromecast which we were very happy about. It was missing a mirror in the bathroom for putting on makeup. Leisure centre was lovely, the temperature of the water in the jacuzzi was luke warm, would be better if it was warmer. Breakfast was lovely €5 tray charge to deliver to the room at the exact time we specified was perfect and a nice treat We didn't have a good experience in Reeds restaurant, the starters were lovely but it went downhill after that. My husbands main course was incorrect and not what he ordered, and they did not take back my plate when the error was made. So I was eating my main course alone and I was finished by the time his correct order arrived. Service was very slow especially for the desert - warm chocolate tart which took over 30 minutes to arrive. They also got my wine order incorrect. I saw a few other errors being made on other tables so it wasn't a once off error unfortunately. The main course and desert were only ok not amazing and I was expecting a much better experience considering listed on their website: ''Reeds Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for 7 years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022). Named Best Hotel Restaurant in Wexford for two years and listed in the top 5 restaurants in Leinster by the Restaurant Association of Ireland. Recommended by Georgina Cambell and Lucinda O'Sullivan.'' After dinner we had a look in the bar but it didn’t look very enticing as there was no atmosphere or music so we didn't bother having a drink.…
My husband took me here last August for my 4oth birthday. Lovely Hotel, friendly staff. The location and setting is beautiful. The spa unfortunately wasn't open though and we had been planning a spa weekend so went to another hotel for that, which is fine but we would like to go back to Ferrycarrig for the whole getaway together. Its a beautiful place and has such a relexed vibe and setting. Its gorgeous on your balcony overlooking the water.
We stayed here twice in the last few months and we have found this hotel to be really great...one of the best I have stayed in Ireland. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the general manager even helped me de-ice my car!! The atmosphere is relaxing and there is a nice choice of food in both restaurants.
We booked the New Years Eve package for 2 adults and one child. The rate (€605) included bed, breakfast and one evening meal on New Year’s Eve. We arrived on the Friday and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we were allocated was lovely. Large room with a balcony. We noted there were very few “common” areas in the hotel for guests to sit and relax but there was a nice bar and we had the restaurant booked for New Year’s Eve so we were happy out. There was nothing “extra” on in the hotel for kids for New Year’s which would have been nice but the staff were lovely and hotel was nice and relaxing and we were able to entertain ourselves and the little one so all good. We had dinner in the bar and food was good. Breakfast the next morning was buffet, food was fresh and hot. Staff again were very friendly. Spent a couple of hours in the pool and then went back to the room to get washed and dressed. Around 3:30pm we decided to head down to bar for a bite to eat however noted that the bar was quite busy with wedding guests. We assumed the guests were passing through on their way to the wedding reception and seeing as the bar couldn’t accommodate us we returned to our room to allow them time to move the guests to the “wedding reception”. We returned to the bar an hour later, 4:30pm and the number of guests had actually increased and the bar was unable to accommodate us. We asked at reception if there was another area hotel guests could be accommodated while the wedding was underway and was told no however the wedding guests would be moving on to dinner around 5:30pm-6pm and we could use the bar then. We were very disappointed. We booked what we were told a New Year’s Eve package but now we were being told that we were basically unable to use the facilities in the hotel as the wedding party took a priority, which I believe the wedding totally should, however as the hotel is unable to accommodate both a wedding and hotel guests they should not have sold what they advertised as a “New Year’s Eve package”. It was quite a large wedding and as such I asked how the number of guests would impact on our ability to view the fire work display advertised as part of the package (which we booked in September). The receptionist informed me that the fire works were for the wedding and not general guests staying in the hotel however we might be able to see them from our room. The idea behind booking a four star hotel for the new year was to spend time as a family in a relaxing environment, enjoying the facilities of the hotel. However the afternoon of New Year’s Eve the hotel was off limits to us. The fire work display that was promised as part of the package and that my child was looking forward to seeing was now a “maybe” depending on what direction our room faced. It was not as advertised and we felt very uncomfortable being there and felt like unwanted guests or gate crashers at someone’s wedding. We decided to check out early. It absolutely ruined our New Years Eve. Something we had very much been looking forward to. If booking this hotel and are not attending a wedding please check to make sure that the hotel will not be hosting a wedding during your stay or will be confined to your room or have to leave if you want to eat or drink. We definitely will not return to this hotel.…
Stayed here for a combined anniversary and birthday celebration for 2 nights. We had a lovely spacious room with a beautiful view. Fabulous touches in the room with a box of chocolates and pillows with happy anniversary and happy birthday. Shortly after we arrived we were surprised with a beautiful array of sweet treats delivered to our room. We had dinner in the bar on the first evening as the restaurant was closed at the time, which was nice but as it was a package deal the menu was slightly different with not as much of a selection. Breakfast was a buffet and there was a great selection.
Just back from a stay with my husband and parents . My dad has mobility issues and the hotel is so well equipped. Their room was perfect . We had lunch dinner and breakfast in the hotel and all lovely . Cocktails were fab .all the staff we came in contact with were so friendly and helpful . Our room was lovely .we used the pool which was so nice .the whole hotel is spotless and entertainment in the bar was good .my dad is starting radiation treatment next week so wanted them to have a relaxing stay and it didn't disappoint.
Receptionist who checked us in was very lovely, efficient and helpful and knowledgeable about the area, I wish I got her name. Our inclusive dinner in the restaurant was very good and again the restaurant manager was attentive and friendly. The bedroom was beautiful, large and we had a balcony which was perfect as we got to sit outside and watch fireworks show on the Saturday night which I didn't expect at all. That really made the trip special. It was just such a comfortable experience, my partner and I felt so welcome. Definitely one of the best 4-star hotels in the country that I have stayed in, and I look forward to coming back.
We stayed in August for a wedding. Everything was excellent. The food and service at the wedding was outstanding. The staff was very accommodating. Our room was really nice with a water view and the price was excellent. Breakfast was included and was really good and the staff were accommodating to people arriving late to breakfast. I would highly recommend having a wedding reception or party here. The rooms are great for a family stay with a wonderful breakfast included.
