My husband and I came to Spain to visit our son who was studying abroad. We were traveling around with him so we were looking for a place that had three beds in a room. This place fit the bill. I will admit that when we pulled up to the hotel we questioned our decision to stay here but once we walked in side our questions disappeared. The common area is beautiful and you can hang there at night and have a drink. The balcony and gardens must be beautiful in spring but in March things were not in bloom. We then were shown to a large room with a balcony over looking the horse stables and beautiful view of the fields. We were given a map and some great recommendations on where to eat. Be aware that this place is on the outskirts of town and you will need to walk up a good amount of stairs to get any of the sights or restaurants. We did not mind this being that we wanted not to stay in the center of town. That being said it is only a 10 minute walk to most places. If we returned to Ronda we would definitely stay here again.

Dear Barbara. Thanks so much for your nice review and for describing our place so well. The location of the hotel, in the old town at 10 minutes walking up to the Puente Nuevo is very appreciated for our guests looking for relax and silence during the night. Far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the center, but still in the old town. Thanks again for sharing your experience with other traveler. Inma, Christian, David and the rest of the team of Alavera de los Baños.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for only two nights. Next time I am planning at least a week here. It was pure heaven. The room had a private terrace and it overlooked the horse stables and a sheep farm. The entire decor of the hotel is top notch and we loved the outside garden and common area inside to hang out at night. Above the hotel was the gorgeous cliff side view. Literally right next door(as the name implies) is the archaeological site of the Arab Baths. When we checked in everything was explained really well and we got a nice map with some local recommendations. Also before I arrived we got the PDF guide which was so helpful. If arriving by bus or train, it’s very easy to get a taxi to this location. The best location we stayed at during our time in Spain. A must stay!!!! You won’t regret it.

Dear Ginger. Thanks for your five bubbles review. You have summarized in a few words the highlights of our small hotel. Our guests love the decor, gardens, pool and the quiet location, next to the Arabic Baths and the old bridge. We are glad you had a nice stay with us and hope to welcome you in a future again. Kind regards, Christian, Inma and Toko...

Our room was next to the pedestrian side walk thus we can hear people walking by our window every 5 sec. the room was small and has a smell even I opened all the windows to try to let the smell vent. It was dark and humid. The climb up the staircase from the hotel to downtown was a major cardio workout. Imagine doing this 2 times a day while staying here. We stayed here due to Rick Steve’s travel book recommendation and should have researched a bit more for a better location and less cramped hotel. The front desk is friendly but refused to change the room.

We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Alavera de los Baños. We have a very high satisfaction record as our TripAdvisor reviews show and we work hard to give our guests the best possible experience when they choose to stay with us. We are sorry you felt disturbed by the pedestrians. There was a lot going on in Ronda this weekend, usually it’s very quiet here day and night. Our house is located away from the hustle and bustle of the center, down on the edge of town. Almost in the country side, walking up in 10 minutes. Most of our guests love the special location ( next to the Moorish hammam of the XIII century and the roman bridge, both ones of the most important monuments of Ronda) as you can see from other reviews. Regarding the bad stell you mentioned we couldn’t find anything ourselves. However, we will continue to pursue this issue in order to resolve it in the event of repeated complaints. Of course, we are always willing to offer our guests changing rooms whenever it is possible! But unfortunately in your case it was not possible, the hotel was fully booked. Should you ever decide to stay in our hotel again, we would more than welcome you and try to make your stay a pleasant one. Kind regards. Christian and Inma and all the Alavera staff.

This place was perfect for seeing Ronda for a day. We wanted to stay outside of town as we were in between stops in Granada and Seville and wanted a little breather from the city life for a night. This was the perfect mix of being central but having a quite spot to come back to! We loved staying this close to Ronda. The staff was excellent and the breakfast was delicious! OH and I don't know why but the shower I took here was easily the best I had while staying in Spain... something with the heat and water pressure was just great :)

We had a lovely stay here. The staff was great, the breakfast was delicious and featured many local specialties, and the room was small but lovely. We were able to park our car right outside and while it's a steep walk into town, it's very scenic and just takes a few minutes. There's a beautiful garden and small pool outside and the common living room area was the perfect place to unwind in the evening.
