Michael greeted us on arrival and let us choose our own room and left us to settle in. First impressions were good, friendly and asked us our preference for breakfast the next morning. Our stay was for 3 nights, and we choose a full English, ( fast forward next morning) Maura served us on very hot plates a beautiful breakfast. The sausage and bacon was from a local butcher which was absolutely the best, the toast came with home made jam. we could've stayed so much longer in the dinning room listening to Michael and Maura and other guests chatting about the history of the area, Michael's knowledge was fascinating to listen to and that made our holiday. Well done Michael and Maura lovely couple. Nigel & Debbie

We have had a lovely stay at the Owl's Crest. Mike & Maura couldn't have been more friendly & welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, our room was clean and comfortable & we had an amazing view of the sunset from our window. Breakfast each morning couldn't be faulted, the home made marmalade was delicious. We wouldn't hesitate on booking a room here when we're next in the area. No complaints from us at all. Thank you for making our weekend so enjoyable.

Had the most wonderful stay at the owls crest. The couple running the b&b couldn't have been more helpful. We were given lots of information on what to do in the area. We had two ensuite rooms. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed. Parking was free. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. On the drive home ,we all agreed that we will definitely return to the owls crest. A big thank you to the owners,I think their names are Mr.& Mrs. O Callaghan.

I would like to start with good points but none come to mind. Room small dated in need of redecorating and modernising. Post it notes everywhere and a tiny tv perched on top of a wardrobe. Bed small hard and bedding not great. Bathroom badly decorated and mould in shower. Owners a bit over the top - at breakfast keep talking while you were trying to enjoy food - very annoying. Food was ok. Would I recommend- errr NO.

We welcome feedback. We did not find mould, but as it is a hardwater area there was a small black mark in the corner. Our double rooms have a double bed and have standard 19 inch TVs. We as a small business are still trying to survive the pandemic. We have done a refund and have nothing further to say to this lady.

The Owl's Crest is in land that time forgot. The owners (Maura and Mike) seem like well intended and nice people. However, I think if someone took them to one side and tried to help them, I’m all but sure they would neither listen nor see the point of the message. The truth is, they need all the help they can get: Alex Polizzi please help these people. The décor is exceptionally tired. The over bearing and totally over done owl theme is eccentric at best - yet, tasteless in all fairness. We had a tutorial in how to open the front door, which was ridiculous for two young blokes - as it was a standard key and turn. Several light switches with post it type notes with instructions. The room looked like it had not been decorated in many, many, years. The curtains were about six inches away from the window and light flooded the bed. The shower was mouldy. The cheap mattress was rock hard. The breakfast is served during a very restrictive 45 min window (0815-0900) and makes guests think they are fitting around the owners. We only had one breakfast (during our two night stay) las Mike was over bearing and full on (type “Ray McCooney Little Britain” into YouTube and this will give you a good idea of what he’s like). For example, Mike would walk up to people eating and talk about random topics rather than let the customer drive the conversation. Mike did not stop talking during breakfast and it became an endurance rather than a paid experience. Overall, I would say that The Premier Inn is well worth the extra money and people should only stay here if they like the tired, eccentric, over bearing and cheap B&B ambience.

We welcome feedback here. We are still trying to survive the pandemic. We accept, we don't always get it right and could dispute some of these points, however we have nothing further to add.

Let’s begin with the positive, friendly owners, clean and reasonable priced Downside: The decor is very tired and needs updating, the multiple pictures of owls staring you in the face while using the toilet is more than off putting. The bed creaked to the point that you move and it sounded like we where dancing on it, our feet dangled Over the edge and I’m not even 6ft tall, mould in the shower cubicle frame on the floor, the shower head was loose and when I tried to change the flow it fell to the floor, with wallpaper in the bathroom and yellow curtains it was a bit of a let down compared to previous reviews and the photos. A good vet could have brought my bacon back to life. The car park is more than ample and again really can’t stress how friendly the owners are

Maura and Mike offered a warm welcome to their lovely home, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel as if nothing was to much trouble. The breakfasts were hearty and filling and Mauras homemade jams are amazing and not to be missed. We will definitely stay with them again when we are in the area.
