Just returned from our third two night stay at The Inn and it just gets better every time! After a lovely welcome from Andrew we were shown to our usual room, in the annexe overlooking the garden, the room was immaculate and had complimentary Welsh Cakes & bottled water as well as the usual Tea / Coffee making facilities along...

We stayed in June 2013. Andrew was hugely welcoming and always very helpful. All of the other staff we had dealings with were excellent and professional also. The food was terrific - Serious attention paid to local sourcing. Breakfast definately making the effort to get up for! We are already planning a trip back with other friends and family. Thanks...

We stayed here over the weekend of Father's Day with our daughter and her boyfriend. Thoroughly enjoyable and very comfortable room. Very well looked after by the owners. Could have been a bit warmer but can't blame the hotel for that!!

Lovely location in a popular and well known local pub with rooms above and also alongside. Restaurant has good reputation and food was excellent. Hospitable and friendly staff. Excellent base for local walks, either down to the River Wye or a short car trip away. Pub was closed on Mondays but various local alternatives are available including in Monmouth. Stayed...

The village of Penallt really is charming and set on the banks of a wide valley: a stunning Monmouthshire idyll. It's great that its village pub survives and doubly great that the proprietors have invested so much time and energy into making it a success. We stayed for a couple of nights and were made most welcome by the landlord....

Thank you so much for staying with us Jackie and I are delighted you enjoyed your visit but genuinely disappointed you had difficulty with the blind in your room. We are conscious that our rooms are not the largest but do look to make up for this with the quality of the fixtures, furnishings, bedding, towels and extra small touches....

We generally stay in B&Bs and Inns when we travel but never have we encountered one like the Inn at Penallt. It has everything that a good Inn should have---a great location, wonderful hosts, and good food. Situated a few miles from Monmouth in Wales, in the quaint village of Penallt, this Inn was started by Andrew and Jacqui who...

Recently had a lovely 3-night stay with my wife and in-laws whilst visiting family in Monmouth. The rooms were comfortable and pleasantly furnished & decorated (although, possibly, slightly bijou for some). ALL the food we had was locally-sourced and/or made on the premises: delicious breads (some of which we were given to take home with us), best bacon we've had...

Just returned from a blissful birthday/ anniversary stay at the inn. It was so perfect and the owners are LOVELY. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and went on the circular walk which passes by the other pub in the village and has truly spectacular views from the top of the hill. For dinner I had cod with chorizo...
