We stayed for 5 days and were delighted to have found this little paradise near Pezenas. Sonia and John have created a beautiful home and garden. The centre piece swimming pool area, offered plenty of seating areas in sun or shade and the honesty bar was most welcome. Delicious breakfasts on the terrace and a comfortable bed, with extra pillows made this such a good stay. Sonia and John were so welcoming and gave us excellent advice on where to visit. This gem will stay in our memories for a long time.
As a solo traveller in the Languedoc region, stumbling on La Bergerie de Laval was a real stroke of luck. This charming Chambres d'Hotes, situated a 10min. drive from the historic town of Pezenas, offers its guests comfort and relaxation in a delightful setting. Wonderfully satisfying breakfasts on the beautiful terrace, overlooking the small pool with a choice of relaxing spots - loungers, hammock, swing seat or hot tub - to be enjoyed after a day's meandering through the beautiful sights of the region, where vineyards and villages vie for attention. Sonia and John are perfect hosts, with attention to the little details that can make a difference - complimentary tea and coffee or a drink from the 'Honesty Bar' on the terrace, a fan for a warm summer night, suggestions for day trips etc. A gem.…
We actually stayed in 2016 (drop down for review would not go back that far) and I still smile every time i remember this magnificent home from home. Sam the dog welcomed us like family (as did our wonderful hosts), the facilities are outstanding and Tourbes is a lovely village with great dining options. We felt really spoiled with our lovely room, and it was so close to Mediterranean beaches, the awesome Pezenas and charming villages like St Guillam le Desert. An absolute gem of a place to stay and unforgettable - you will not be disappointed.
Our second visit in three years to this wonderful establishment run by Sonia and John Potts. They have a knack of making you feel like you’re at home. A welcoming pool and al fresco breakfast in the terrace each morning, what more could you ask for. The rooms are comfy with fans provided for the hot summer nights. Plenty of outdoor furniture by the pool in the large landscapes gardens. Even a lovely shaded area on the patio with comfy seating and the best honesty bar you could ask for...help yourself, write it down and settle up when you leave. A special mention too for their resident entertainer; Sam. A sprightly 11year old Brittany Spaniel who loves being stroked, playing catch from the pool or loves you to throw the ball all day. My idea of heaven!
When we arrived at the blue gate, Sonia opened it along with a bright welcoming smile. She is the quintessential hostess, making us feel more than welcome. The grounds are so inviting, along with the pool, patio and honor bar. The perfect setting to rest from travels. Our room was “lovely.” It was clean, charming decor and the shower fit our bill. Sonia made us a great breakfast with an assortment of items - for me the croissants, baguette and French pressed coffee had me at the get go! On my part, planning was dismal. I only fit in one night here and two or even more would have been better. This place is a keeper . . . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ or 👍👍
Wonderful accommodation in a wonderful part of France. We spent 4 nights here as part of our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the room and pool area. Think the honesty bar is a wonderful idea and appreciated free tea and coffee, also a great breakfast with lots of opportunity to ask hosts, Sonia and John advice on day trips. We would love to return.
This B&B Is the perfect quiet spot to explore the beautiful area of Pezenas. Sonia and John are the most perfect host. Such a relaxed atmosphere and the most stunning pool area to chill. Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely return.
A lovely B&B in a quiet village which has restaurants. The hosts were lovely and made us feel welcome. They have a beautiful garden and pool. Would definitely return! Tourbes. Is very close to some of the best towns, villages and the nature Languedoc-Roussillon has to offer. There is so much to do and see.
The room was cool and welcoming. A lovely bed and ensuite. Our hosts Sonia and John were very welcoming and full of useful information about places to visit and eat. The garden and pool were perfect, especially after a hot day out and about and the outside honesty bar was perfect for a cold beer or glass of wine at the end of the day. We spent some time one day by the pool which the owners were happy for us to do. The breakfasts outside by the pool were delicious with fresh fruit bread and croissants or similar. We have to also mention Sam the dog, our new best friend!
Sonia and John made us so welcome on our arrival, along with Sam who was thrilled to see us - what a welcome! Our room was immaculate, beautiful and had everything we needed for our visit. We were shown around and invited to use the facilities at our leisure, including the jacuzzi, honesty bar and grounds. Sonia was very helpful recommending some great options for our day trips depending on the weather and also some wonderful restaurants which all turned out to be lovely. (Our favourite day trip being Saint Guilhem de Desert and the surrounding area). Despite my failure to mention to Sonia my dietary restrictions in advance of arrival she did her utmost to provide alternatives for breakfast and was the most gracious host. Thank-you so much for a lovely escape!
