What a fantastic experience, arrived on Good Friday to be greeted by fresh bread, full fridge, candle burning and a real home style feel. Could ask for nothing more. Great place to come back to after a day sampling the best that Mudgee has to offer . Relaxation plus

These are the cutest and most comfortable cottages in Mudgee. They are a combination of authenticity, luxury, comfort and hospitality. We stayed both in the two bedroom as well as the three bedroom cottage. They were magnificent and unique in their own way. The two bedroom Blackman's cottage was intimate and shabby chic while the three bedroom Maggie's cottage was... More

We stayed in the Blackmans Cottage, and it was awesome, very authentic, but had all the mod cons you could ask for... The fridge was stocked with all you could need for a great breakfast. It has a beautiful rural location, and only minutes from wineries. We would defiantly be back. Thanks Ilkley for a great experience.

It was our first time in Mudgee and decided to stay at Ilkley Cottages. We spent the weekend in the Calving Gully Cottage and it was just perfect. Cosy and very cute with a beautiful outlook to wake up to. So many options in the supplies for our breakfasts we couldn't actually eat everything! Super comfy firm bed, I havent... More

This is a fantastic B + B, set in a beautiful rural location but only minutes to wineries, resteraunts and Mudgee. Nothing has been left undone to assure your comfort and enjoyment. (OK, they may not have been responsible for the kangaroos grazing around us, but it certainly added to the ambience). Fresh homemade bread, filtered drinking water - although... More

We went there for a long week-end and that's was a perfect relaxing spot. The cottage was well maintained, we had lovely food for the three breakfast we had there, and it was very peaceful even though there are other cottages on the property. There was also a playground for our daughter which she loved. It was conveniently situated in... More

We stayed six nights at Maggies cottage, needing extra space for two nights while our son and his fiancé visited. I'm sure the other cottages would have been just as perfect but this was a special time. Beautiful weather by day but enough night chill to make log fires a pleasure. Having experienced poorly equipped kitchens in other self-catering situations... More

We had the kangaroos washing the dishes for a while, their feet even fitted under the sink. But they are a bit itinerant and tend to be unreliable More

We booked a 2 night stay in one of Ilkley Cottages using Expedia. I fortunately checked the booking the week before with the owners directly to find out that the Expedia booking had not gone through (although $$ was taken). We were offered an alternative property on the grounds but it really was not nice when we arrived. The owners... More

It will certainly be a long time before anyone can book Ilkley Cottages through Expedia! They have sent us 8 unannounced bookings (so far, there may be more), some of which turned up on our doorway with no warning. Mostly these have overlapped our known bookings, which presents some problems. Where we could we have found alternative accommodation on the... More

Absolutely gorgeous property with everything you could think of available. Blackmans cottage feels like a home away from home, the pantry is stocked with your every day essentials and once you check in you won't want to leave. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

My Husband and I are here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we are so happy we picked this place!! It has to be the sweetest, most romantic little getaway in Mudgee. The property and cottage fit out is second to none, boasting a claw bath and a cosy fire. Tastefully decorated with all the extras to make the trip... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A delightful 10 minute drive through the vineyards north of Mudgee takes you to a hidden hideaway, a 'retreat' in the original sense. While you still see Mudgee and the Valley, you also experience the birds, critters and solitude of the bush.Three fully self-contained cottages provide complete privacy, out of sight and sound of one another, in their own bush settings. There are several of Mudgees best eating options nearby, vine-lined lanes to ramble or cycle (using ours or yours), and verandahs from which to immerse yourselves in the sunsets over the Valley. And of course wineries. The major wineries are all between Mudgee and Ilkley. You can call in on the way home and say "What have you got to go with this magnificent Mudgee scotch fillet on the BBQ tonight?" ... more   less
