The hotel is just next to the highway Madrid - Barcelona (close to Madrid and the airport). Good parking behind a closed gate. The hotel is really basic and all people are drivers that has to rest. In the direct neighborhood is not so much to do. Efficient and not expensive (60 euro) if you just have to sleep when you are traveling.
I found it difficult to find the hotel entrance, but now having been there it will be easier when I return. The trick is to look for the car park entrance with huge metal gates on your right as you go down the service/slip road to join the A2/E90. The reception staff were very welcoming and checked me in smoothly. The room was real spacious, clean and heated to a perfect temperature. The bathroom was very clean as well. The buffet breakfast had a fair choice of food, enough to fuel until until a meal later in the day. The parking was very secure and I can higly recommend this hotel as a good stopover place for ferries to or from Santander.
Recently stayed at Hotel Torcal while attending The Champions League in Madrid. Nice clean and tidy hotel which is situated on the main Madrid to Barcelona motorway. Nice reception with a bar which serves ice cold draught or bottled beers at reasonable prices. Good Breakfast with breads, meats, cheeses and fruits as a buffet. Nice spacious comfy rooms and had a great quiet sleep. Nice bathroom with a good shower. Good Hotel for the price about 30 mins from the airport and 45 mins from hotel. Guadalajara is a nice small town and the train station is 10 mins from the hotel.
This is a working-class hotel in the middle of a dismal street of auto dealerships. I wouldn't call it ratty, it's on the whole clean, but it also smells a bit of cleaning products. There's a basic restaurant with basic food. Only one person in the place knew a bit of English, but he was quite helpful. It's a three-star hotel, but it's not in the league of three-stars in Sevilla, Toledo, Madrid, etc, many of which have some real charm.. I'd say use this place if you need a roof over your head for a night, but don't expect any charm. The rooms are big, the wifi strong.
