We stayed at the hotel in late September, and would have no hesitation about booking again. While some of the bedrooms are a shaded dated - perhaps from the last years of Generalisimo Francisco Franco, they are a descent size, as are the well-equipped bathrooms. Most rooms have sea views; some an extensive side view, others a full view of the bay and gardens. The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean, and the public areas furnished in the modern local style - there is extensive artwork, which may be purchased. The gardens are substantial and well maintained, providing spectacular views of the coast on both sides of the hotel, which is situated on a small headland. The outdoor saltwater pool is large and never seemed to get crowded when we were there, though it may do so in high Summer. The public beach is a few hundred yards from the hotel, accessed from the coastal path, where loungers and sunshade may be hired. There are three restaurants/beach bars on the beach. Bathing is pretty safe, though parts of the beach shelve quite steeply/suddenly. There is a life guard in the high season. It is possible to walk the coastal path to the centre of Roses in about 60/70 minutes - there are fine views from the path. It is steep in places - there are steps, and not all sections have a hard surface - some sections are quite uneven. We tended to have only breakfasts and dinner at the hotel. All the meals we ate were excellent. The breakfast buffet was substantial and varied: there was fresh fruit, assorted cheeses and cold meats, along with bread, cakes and preserves. Call-order eggs were available, and an 'egg bath' for self-cooked boiled eggs. The set dinner menus were extensive, imaginative and specialised in local dishes, but not exclusively. The food was of consistently high quality and always well-presented. Staff were informed about the choices available, and content to advise and suggest. Throughout, we found the restaurant service faultless, pleasant and professional, as were staff in all parts of the hotel. Cannot recommend the Almadrava Park Hotel too highly.

We didn't stay but did enjoy the bar, tapas, drinks, views, and walk around the grounds. Beautifully quiet and secluded so we could enjoy peace in the chaos of Roses. The food and drink was excellent. Great service.

When you arrive and walk up to reception you expect to be greeted with a warm friendly smile, nothing too much trouble attitude...not the case here, taking calls while attending to us, overall poor and needs a customer service course. Rooms small for a 4 star and overall the hotel needs a re-furb. On the upside restaurant food was good as was the service but by far the selling point is the location. Totally overpriced even though we accept it was high season - August.

It is nice to be in quiet hotel near the busy Roses area. This hotel has kept a style which some might find vintage but which goes along with the hotel style. The view is stunning, the staff is very friendly and polite. The food is great. Parking is available and recommended as you can show off your car right in front of the lobby. A must hotel in this area.

Expectations were high from this hotel and hence the 3 stars which may be a bit mean but for the price and the previous reviews I hoped for a lot more. The hotel is located a few miles from Roses and was not as isolated as I expected which was a good thing. We arrived by car and there were good car parking facilities all around the hotel. Reception dealt with us efficiently and we were given the 'keys' to our third floor sea view room. The room was a good size although sparsely decorated, shower over the bath and twin sinks. Good size wardrobe, safe, fridge, tv, air con and small balcony. We had a nice view above the garden and a sea view of roses with late afternoon/evening sun. Breakfast offered a good variety of options but nothing cooked except eggs. All serve yourself including drinks. Nice bar area and outside seating. For dinner there was a small menu offering set menu or a la carte. The swimming pool area was lovely. a very good size with lovely views. Showers and plenty of comfy sunbeds but no umbrellas although there was plenty of shade in various parts of the garden. There are steps from the side of the pool/hotel which take you down to a beautiful beach with 3/4 bars and restaurants which you can access without having to change from swimming costumes. Now the disappointing part:- Just a note to say the staff were not run off their feet so no excuses from my point of view. No obvious leaflets or information in the hotel of what to do or where to go in the area. No information from reception about what there is in and around the hotel. No information on transport or walks. A real bugbear of mine is no mirror in the bedroom. A lady needs a mirror for hairdrying, makeup, dressing etc. You can't use the bathroom one when someone else is in there or it is all steamed up. Breakfast was good but there was no staff about if you were down before 8.30. Everyone seemed to be in the kitchen. The egg boiler was an absolute farce. There must have been dozens of rejected eggs every morning. The water didn't boil and eggs were still watery after 20 minutes in the machine. People in tables all around us were just leaving them uneaten. I waited 10 minutes one morning for someone to emerge from the kitchen to order scrambled eggs and then gave up. Trying to order drinks in the garden and being ignored by the waiters when you know they have seen you. Dinner did not live up to expectations. My meal arrived only warm and 2 of the meals arrived and the other 2 came over 5 minutes later. Wouldn't say that the meal lived up to the hype. We had a late departure at the airport and asked if there was anywhere we could have a shower and wash hair. The answer was no.
