We found Cala Joncols after a rocky car ride from Roses. A little paradise, away from the summer crowds. Rustic olive trees surround this charming, family run hotel. Dive spots just a few minutes away from hotel. We ate the set menu every night and every night was a hit. Excellent food and the hotel’s house wine is a must try. If you have time, ask for a visit/wine tasting at the hotel’s wine cave. Spectacular

After 25 min on a dirt mountian road you reach a run down hotel with awful food and even worse service. Our room smelled horribly of chemicals the entire stay. Theres no cell signal or internet and the hotel wifi only works in the reception. Save yourself the pain and money (cause its not cheap!) and stay somewhere else.

Cala Joncols boutique hotel is not just the right place if you want to relax and enjoy great views. The gastronomical experience is incredible. The chef selections and service, combine with the sightseeings, make this place, the best choice in Costa Brava.

Very nice bijou little hotel with a real family feel to it. The rooms were clean and nice if a little basic, my room had an amazing ocean view and a nice balcony. We came to dive, and it was well worth it, but really I would come back for the food and wine! The food was fabulous, fish, shellfish and other delights, expertly paired with local wines. They make their own wine, that sits under the water at some depth for a while imparting a unique flavour! I think next time I will return for a romantic break!

Stopped for lunch during hike from Roses to Cadaques. We had planned to hike thru, but were curious about the walled area adjacent to the beach. Super comfort dining area, attentive staff, excellent seafood. It’d be a lovely spot for drinks and sunset.
