Detailed Reviews
The hotel is situated in its expected location, near the North Cape Plateau. Naturally, supply and demand dictate the price, especially during the peak season. The location is nice, and the food is acceptable, which is what one would expect from a hotel that primarily caters to large tour groups.
However, for the price we paid, I expected more than what felt like a large guesthouse. There was no WiFi in the rooms, only in the main hall. The rooms were not cleaned, beds were not made, and towels were not replaced during our stay.
While driving around Magerøya, we noticed several smaller hotels and guesthouses. I recommend checking these alternatives first. They are even better located, and I would assume the service is better, although the prices might also reflect the large influx of tourists visiting the island during the summer.

This is a prime example of how pictures and first impressions can be a little deceiving!
Very nice pictures of hotels and very nice facades, but a little rough on the other side.
The positive:
Good beds.
The negative:
Warm room.
You cannot open the window, because then you will be eaten by mosquitoes, gnats and other things with wings.
The bathroom is right on the edge of what can go.
No Wi-Fi.
Not TV.
Carpet on the floor with fine stains.
No one who works knows Norwegian.
You must be a keen orienteer to manage and find the room.
You have to share the room with mosquitoes.
The breakfast gives you the feeling of being on après ski, or a cheap buffet on the Danish boat.

Our room here was pretty basic but unlike a lot of local accommodation, it had a private bathroom. The rooms are on the small side with no tv but the bed was comfortable with good bedding and the room furniture was reasonably good. The carpet was a bit worn but this far north with the weather conditions here, I guess that’s to be expected. The bathroom is small but the equipment is fine and there was plenty of hot water. A shower curtain was a surprise rather than a moveable screen but it was clean. On the down side, this place had about 5 coach parties here each night during our two night stay so the buffet breakfast was very busy and somewhat noisy. The dining room is really nice but if you can, avoid the bus tour crowds as the food servery area is very small for the number of guests trying to access it. At one stage on our first morning, they ran out of clean plates. Overall, a good location for the local sights but a somewhat budget quality stay.

Hotel's Favourite
On a two night stay travelling on local coach with driver (not on the luxuria coach with drivers) with Leger holidays on a 16 day Arctic Circle and the land of the midnight sun holiday, apparently this used to be the Olympic Village, over two floors with no lift, rooms were clean and comfortable, no tv or hairdryer or tea and coffee making facilities, we enjoyed a buffet style dinner and breakfast, meals were on a set time of 45 mins a setting to eat, you could sit upstairs in the lounge area after your evening meal, as the evenings stayed light we enjoyed nice walks around the area the views and scenery were amazing, the hotel is in a excellent location, staff friendly and helpful. On our first night at the hotel we were taken at 9:30pm by local coach and driver to the North Cape, the north cape hall is a vast complex with cafe, restaurant, toilets, large souvenir shop, small museum and a video cinema. We saw the globe of the north cape and the midnight sun which was absolutely perfect, we had fantastic photos. On our second day staying at the hotel we went with local coach and driver to visit Honningsvag, Skarsvag and Kamoyaer fishing villages and tea and waffles in the Christmas house.
I enjoyed my two nights stay at the Scandic Nordkapp hotel.

This more resembles a motel than a hotel. Unpleasant to have to go out in the wind to get to the breakfast room. The room was very clean and nice, nothing to postpone the cleaning. Breakfast was perfectly decent, neither more nor less. But quite scandalously to mark the food wrong; turkeyplants and ham (pigs) were exchanged. Not okay! The floor in the room was ice cold despite carpet flooring. Cold and rough in the bathroom. After showering 2 minutes in the evening it was empty (!) for hot water! The complaint, without it happening other than that a guard came and noted that the water was cold and that the room shared hot water tank with the room over. When I was not finished in the shower and my husband had not been given the shower we complained again and told that we needed hot water. The receptionist seemed tough and proclaimed that she could do nothing, as they were full booked. Checked the website right afterwards, and there it was obviously possible to book more than one room, so full booked they were probably not. But the policy might be to claim it, so they don't give the guests new room... the worst thing I know is people who lie to me. The next morning my husband showered for 3 minutes and saved the water so that it would be enough for me too. After moisturizing my hair and shampooing, there was ice-cold water left, with the result that I had to wash my hair in ice water. At the check-out I met a very arrogant man at the reception who does not own personal competence and service attitude, who did not show any kind of humility in the situation, not as much as a regret for having to start the day with an ice-cold shower. Never experienced that a hotel is empty of hot water. Should have demanded a refund, but couldn't spend the time cracking. This is a hotel we will come back to. Here only profit is thought of, at the expense of the guests. A shame for the whole chain. There is not much to choose from in Finnmark, but we are here for the first time and will probably not return with the first one, but we will probably avoid the Scandic chain in the future where possible, thanks to this experience.

very large structure, made up of a central body with reception and restaurant and many external bodies with rooms, all in wood. the nice room with heated floor. The restaurant room is very large with a beautiful fireplace but the buffet area is a bit narrow so you have to queue a bit, I went there for both dinner and breakfast which were both good anyway

This should never be called a Scandic hotel,as quality is lower, but on the flip side, being so far up north,it is fine. The breakfast buffet did not have many items and the evening buffet was very lousy and there was not much different foods. The staff was very caring and accomodative. The room looked like a ship cabin and the bathroom was all plastic. There was no wifi in the room and no TV.Even elderly people were given rooms on 1st and 2nd floor and had to carry their luggage up

We were shunted from our scheduled hotel, the Scandic Honningsvag in town without warning or explanation. This hotel is a barracks style, and it reminded me of a large school camp, with a large mess hall (restaurant) that you walked to exposed to the weather. No availability to walk in cold or wet weather without the necessary clothes into the restaurant. We stayed in a tiny room, with a tiny bathroom about the size of a cruise ship, with no desk, no tv, no wifi in rooms, and poor lighting. The positives were a heated bathroom floor, and a heater in room, and all things considered with the temperature outside (in the middle of summer) at 5 degrees and constant drizzle, it was better than sleeping in the cold and rain.

Very basic, busy, crowded hotel between Honningsvåg and North Cape. Barren surroundings, along the road, nothing to see close by except for a small touristinfo «sami camp».
Good beds, good bedlinen and towels, clean room. No TV set or fridge in the room. No wifi accessible from the room.
Long outdoor corridors, no lift.
Dinner was very basic, served in a luncheon buffet style, with a 45 minute timeslot to eat.
Felt like a tourist factor. Absolutely charmless.

The hotel is in a rural location. It has basic facilities. No air conditioning, no hairdryer. The window can only be opened a little at the bottom, very long wooden corridors outside, where the rattling of the suitcase wheels would wake any marmot from hibernation. WiFi is a bit of a problem.
Unfortunately, our room was not just overheated, it was really hot. We had to keep the door and window open for longer so that we could stay. The radiator in the bathroom was running at full blast. No valves whatsoever, no instructions on how to turn it off. In addition, the reception was unmanned for a long time. A friendly guest informed us what to do.
Dinner and breakfast were good. There is also a small bar where you can buy alcoholic drinks.
The chairs are put on the tables quite early.
The hotel is very well located for the North Cape. A little more and we would remember the hotel much better.
