Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location, relatively comfortable depending on the rooms.

Negative: I just left the hotel writing this review, I am part of a group of 41 people currently.

Everyone agreed on the quality of the meals.

It was frugal and poor quality, from lunch last night to breakfast this morning.

Having touched a word to the manager, I kindly received...

A hotel close to his money, quite unpleasant in his manners.

This from a group of 41 people;)

We stayed in a three person room. The view from the room was amazing and the night was surprisingly queit. The food in the restaurant was nice home made fresh fish. Would stay there again if I'd visite the area again.

Location is great, but that is only positive thing about this hotel.
About staff: quite ok.
We were informed on arrival that they accept just Norwegian credit cards or cash. We paid in euros and when I asked for receipt somehow this caused a lot of trouble. First girl at the reception went to the kitchen to ask for advice from her boss. I heard them chatting in Polish. A minute later she came back, informed that the register is our of order. After negotiation she gave me piece of paper were she wrote amount of euros I have paid for accommodation and dinner. She promised to send me receipt by e-mail, but it never happened.
About food: terrible. For breakfast we had on our table ready served four slices of ham, four slices of cheese and six slices of bread and we are family of three. They were constantly out of coffee.
Dinner consist of tomato soup from can, defrosted vegetables and tasteless fish. There was melted butter for sauce. Pudding was made straight from pudding powder I believe. They have charged 250 Norwegian krones/person for dinner and even for Norwigian prices is way too much for such food.
In short – would not stay there again.

Very nice hotel in good location, perfect service, the people who work here are very nice, they did their best to provide plant-based food for us.
It is only 30 min drive from the famous North Cap.
The rooms are big enough and the lobby and restaurant are very cosy.
The views are beautiful.

The location of the hotel facing the small port on the Mageroya Island is wonderful. Some of the rooms, like mine are also facing the port and gives you breathtaking views. The small village has only an bunch of houses and not a lot to do, but that is the same all over the island.

Owners and staff looks new to the job. There were a lot of small touch missing: tea at breakfast was only brought earl grey instead of asking preference dinner was very expensive but not so looked after: simple boiled cod with steamed vegetables, tasty but not worthy the price of 250nok per person paid (unfortunately the island has only a few restaurant in Honningsvag and on Sundays all shops are closed. I would recommend to buy something at a shop nearby like salad or similar and eat in the room. when paying for the room, the pdq machine was out of paper and the owner asked for our credit card again... I had to teach her how to reprint a receipt payment for the dinner in the morning took long time because they did not know how to operate the till the hotel has a lot of groups for dinner being the only restaurant in the area and the servers looks not very well trained and overloaded of work dinner was meant to be fishcake (but came as fish filet) and chocolate pudding or cheese platter (but came as chocolate mousse or strawberry baby's cheesy yogurth) that reveals no accuracy in translating menu correctly.

Charming small hotel situated on a bay with a fisherman's wharf and harbour right outside your door. The owner is very friendly. We chosed a room with private balcony with a direct view of the wharf. Inside the room is furnished very simply, clean with two twin beds. Made of old wooden structure unfortunately noise travels easily. They had a bus load of tourists and we were woken up the next morning by their conversations. Also the wifi connection is weak inside the room and can only be accessed in the reception/sitting area. Breakfast is the skimpiest that we ever had throughout our stay in Norway considering the price we paid. Aside from the noise and the weak wifi connection, it would have been a pleasant stay had the breakfast been a lot better.

While the rooms themselves are pretty simple, the authentic hamlet atmosphere and the magical location (in a cove, next to a small fishing harbor) are unforgettable: this is a must-go if planning to spend a night near on the North Cape island.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with view of the harbor. No elevator, so it can be a challenge for older folks.

Have just spend one night at this gorgeous place. Location is almost perfect, and so is the hotel (not a 5 star chain hotel) but very cozy with great hospitality. Also breakfast was excellent, and the host very friendly and “laid back”
