We stayed with our dogs just one night in the early June, but should have stayed longer :) We felt very welcome, the cabin was all clean and in good shape and the location is awesome! You can’t get the sea any closer, the view is so beautiful and all the birds around the cabin were interesting. What a place!

A great place! Our stay was five days at the Rorbua cabin. We were three adults and everything was perfect: the cabin is beautiful, everything was very clean and the instructions Mia and Tina gave us on our arrival were very clear and understandable. Really nice girls 😊
The walks through the wonderful landscapes around the cabin, and all of Magerøya in general, left us with absolute peace. We hope to return again soon!

We stayed in the Rorbua cabin for a few nights. It’s impossible to describe how perfect that place is: from the breathtaking view from the cabin’s window, which you can’t wait to wake up to every morning, to simply well-equipped and functional space Frode created. We’re grateful to our host for the warm welcome! No doubt, if we were to come back to Honningsvåg and Nordkapp, we would stay at North Cape Cabins!

Very cozy place, with great views of the water. Frode is a nice host who gives a good welcome. We ⁇ the place a lot which is very quiet and peaceful, although the road is close. The cabin has everything you need. Good place as we would recommend.

I chose this place mainly due to the cozy location by the water which seemed to be a good place to kick start my 2-week Norwegian trip. I booked the cabin at 1:41 PM for the same day arrival. At 4:28 PM, I received an email from owner Frode K. that said "Booking OK. You´ll get confirmation text tomorrow." That was weird. Nonetheless, I arrived at my requested arrival time of 5:30 PM. Not sooner, not later... like Frode states in highlighted letters on his rules. But no-one was there for the next 15 minutes except me. When Frode appeared, he was unwelcoming and very much in his own thoughts.

The cabin itself was ok although the bunk beds were a bit uncomfortable and small + the Wi-Fi signal was usable only in the loft. However I accepted these things and never bothered the owners any way, always quiet. I even brought my own bed sheet/duvet/pillow/towel etc. Anyway, I was in desparate need of sleep and so I slept quite late. After my alarm went off around 11:30 AM I started to prepare for the day, including some 10 minutes to figure out how to get warm water in the shower and when I was about to step in, Frode knocked the door. It was precisely 12:00. He said nothing else except that I need to leave immeadiately. With my towel on I asked if I could take a quick shower before I leave. He denied that request and said that other guests are coming in 15 minutes (despite the fact that earliest check-in is 2 PM according to him). He was the opposite of friendly but it is his property so I dressed up and left 10 minutes after the noon w/o taking a shower. Frode was nowhere to be seen of course. And when I drove by 45 minutes later, there were no guests to be seen nor their cars either. When I saw Frode face to face at the door earlier, it was actually some 10 minutes before that when I started to hear people walking behind the cabin making loud noise. Since no-one else stayed in these cabins I assume it was Frode and/or his wife. Possibly trying to harrash me out of the cabin which seemed a bit weird and also somewhat comical now.

I've been traveling a lot in developed countries and this was probably the worst lodging experience (at least based on expectations) that includes 13 months in North America in 2010-2011 and certainly this latest Norwegian trip. I would give an average/poor rating for the cabin alone but the owners take it all the way down. If you would stay outside on the pier on a nice summer day, I feel Frode and his wife would constantly trying to monitor your doings along other things. It's something I'd try to avoid.

Response from Frode K, Owner at North Cape Cabins
Responded 30 Jun 2014
Not true! First now, after one year, I have come across this review after a stay at our place. It will take to long to comment on all the man wrote but in general; this is not true! The only true thing is that I had to ask him to leave because he had stayed FAR TO LONG time beyond 12:00 which is check out time and we vere expecting early incoming guests. It is sad to think about all the potential guests who probably dis not choose our place because of this review - Sad for them and sad for us. We have operated this place since 2004 and all our guests have been fully satisfied, at least nobody have said or written anything negative about their stay as far as we are aware of. We have guestbooks full of very positive greetings and a few of them one can read on our website. If you read this as a potential guest I just can say; book a stay and come to meet me and experience this place by yourself.

The location of the cabin is very scenic. On advise we booked the rorbua cabin. When we arrived we were disappointed by de size and facilities in the cabin. The owner showed is the cabin next to it which was much better. We asked if that was vacant and were willing to pay the additional rent, but he said it was not vacant. So disappointed we accepted Rorbua. The stay was unpleasant and we were happy when we were able to leave. Suprisingly the bigger cabin stayed unoccupied for our whole stay whith the tag vacant at the entrance. A big mistake from us which cold have been corrected if the owner would-be have been more flexibel. Disappointing.

Response from Frode K, Owner at North Cape Cabins

Well, this is very strange. The advise to book Rorbua came from their daughter who stayed here two years ago (-so they told me). One should think that parents and daughter talked about what this place/cabin is like. Further they booked via my website where the size of the cabin (18 square metres) is given and even emphasized. The cabin is not big, but for a couple for two days...? About fascilities it is to say that the cabin is equipped with what is normal and sufficient for self-household. Furniture also normal. -We have got no complaines for 10 years. Asking for renting the bigger cabin? The truth is: They did not! Why should I say no to more money? I just do not understand why they are writing this. Very strange...

We spent 2 nights at the North Cape Cabin in the Nisa Hut. The Cabin was very cosy with a beautiful view. Our 3 daughters loved their room upstairs (but this is not be suitable for small children). The north cape Cabins are very well situated, not far from everything and still isolated an very quiet.

During our summer holiday 2016 we spent 3 nights at north cape cabins on our round trip through Norway and Finland. We booked the smallest house Robua and from the moment of our arrival we loved this wonderful, silent little fishing house. It is perfectly equipped with all features we need for a relaxed holiday trip. The heating makes the house warm and cosy. The view over the Fjord is pittoresque and we felt like living in a postcard. Special thanks to Frode Kristiansen for this beautiful time. With his great hospitality, his very helpful information concering the weather, the fishing, the restaurants in Honningsvag and the nice hiking tours we had a great time at North Cape.

We stayed in RORBUA cabin for one night in August.
The cabin is suitable for 4 people for few days and perfect for a couple also for a long period. Is completely equipped for well stay and cooked your meal.
The equipment are clean and tidy, everything is perfect.
The environment around the cabin is fantastic, the sun shine for quite all the day in summer.
Mr Frode, the owner, is a very precise person. Book the cabins is very easy, he give you all the details you need to reach the place and he is very helpful in give informations.
It was a big pity have only one day to stay there.

We will came back soon, maybe in winter.
