This hotel should be completely rebuilt from the ground, I don't think a renovation would cover it. The hotel is very old. The hotel rooms are very old and look extremely old-fashioned. The room is very small, there's not even room to put your suitcase. There's a huge tv in the room, but it's not working. The bathroom is in desperate need of a thorough clean, as the walls of the bathroom were sticky. When of the other guests, no matter in which room or on which floor they are staying, make a sound you can hear it. You can hear all the other guests talking, going to the toilet, flushing the toilet, etc. Sleeping is impossible. Breakfast buffet and dinner buffet were just basic, nothing special. Wifi was okay. There's no hairdryer nor a safe in the room. Staff at reception was friendly.

Dear 22gonnie, Thank you for taking the time to write us feedback on your stay with us. We are very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the property. This is not how we want our guest to experience the hotel. But this is a seasonal hotel which operates for only couple of months a year and remains closed most of the year. To renovate a hotel itself is a challenging project due to its location and tough winter even though it has been in agenda for a long time. We do however provide hairdryer upon request at the reception. We would have also changed the room for you with cleaner bathroom and less noise on the other side of the building so that you could get sound sleep and do not have to face those issues if you would have brought these issues to the reception during your stay at the hotel. Further, the hotel caters to mostly big groups where the tour leaders/ agency prefers to have their group assigned to the rooms that are closer to one another or in the same floor. Therefore, we assig our individual guests to the furthest rooms away from the groups. We are glad to hear that you were satisfied with our friendly reception team. Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a legers coach tour. The hotel is basic and could do with a refurb but it was perfectly adequate for what we needed. The room and shower room were small but clean. No tea/coffee facilities. No mini bar. Lovely views over the harbour and perfect location for nearby trails and local area and access to Nordkapp. The food was pretty much the same both days but was delicious. It can get busy in the restaurant as multiple coach groups arrive at various times.

The Inn certainly does not deserve 3 stars. You have to go down or up 7 steps after traveling kilometers of corridors with the suitcases. A minimalist bathroom: tooth glasses are not even protected, there is no carpet to get out of the shower, not a kleenex or other accessories. And what about cleanliness... The evening meal consisted of a very mediocre buffet where crowds of people crowded in the greatest disorder. The waiters were overwhelmed, and everyone was very unhappy. This Pension must live on a captive clientele or a Group Travel Clientele at an Award.

Wind blowing hard as we entered Honningsvag and checked into Scandic Honningsvag Hotel. Nice size room with twin beds and only one built-in luggage rack. Nice size desk with two electric outlets, but no lamp or lighting over the desk. The TV was placed in the center of the desk, not very convenient to watch from bed. Only four lights in the whole room: one on each side of bed, hall light and one light in the bathroom. Walk-in shower. Body soap provided in two wall mounted dispensers. No shampoo, conditioner or body lotion. Our tour group had the buffet dinner in the evening. Hot selections included rice, marinated chicken, pollock and pork. Soup also available along with tea and coffee. Couple of desserts available as well as fixings for a nice salad. Unfortunately, the hot selections were only warm. We also had a buffet breakfast with our group. About the same offerings as all the other hotels.

Compared to many other Scandic hotels that I have stayed in, that one is just the average and if you take count of the location, I think that is a good result.
The room was ok, little bit weird though with the diagonal bed, but that was ok. Everything was fine and all the things you needed was there.
Buffet dinner and breakfast was just ok. Have had much better in Scandic hotels though.
The hotel should improve the parking for the coaches, really annoying to get the card and afterwards having to get it back to the reception. They could give the driver a code or code the door card to work with the parking lot too as it is 21st century already.

Oh, well, one thing… when I tried to call the next day after the stay, then the system answered, had me choose my options and when it was time for the hotel to really answer, then no one did. Tried about 10 times with different languages, but the answer was always beep-beep-beep. That is a pity as I was calling back after they had called me about one parking issue.

Perfect location as a base to reach the North Cape. Spacious and clean room. Friendly staff. Very varied and excellent breakfast. There are no hairdryers in the rooms but just ask at reception and they will deliver it to you. Being close to the port and on the road to the North Cape there are many groups staying at this hotel so breakfast could be a bit chaotic.

Rude reception. I asked for parking and only after three trips to the park-reception with photos of the other cars' tickets did they do it for me too. Mattress too stained and dirty on the sides. I have already sent photos....The cleaning staff couldn't miss it because it was uncovered....without a mattress cover or sheets. Breakfast is saved. I won't go back.

Stayed at 6 Scandic brand hotels this Northern Norway trip and unfortunately Honningsvag was the most disappointing. The property is "tired" to say the least and in need of a real makeover. The rooms are very cramped, the furniture is clumpy and not really functional (e.g. tv in the window) with only one room chair available. Breakfast is overrun with sometimes tour guests from two coaches which means eating before 9.30 a.m. is a near nightmare. Reception was helpful and did recommend a good restaurant for an evening meal. Honningsvag is clearly seasonal and a stopover for the Nordkapp but decisions should ideally be made by management as to the accommodation, and by potential guests regarding a stay. Sorry, but with the best will in the world, no recommendation.

We have to say that our hotel is opened 4 months per year and that's why it looks different from the ones in big cities, where there's work to do 24/7.
