For over 100 years, Arctic Hotel Nordkapp, by the old name HAVLY, has been a safe haven for visitors and fishermen to Honningsvåg. This hotel roots and traditions dating back to the old sailors’ home founded in 1928. First and the oldiest Havly hotel was build in Honningsvåg (1928). In 1944 hotel was ruined by the II w.w. and rebuild in 1952. Arctic hotel Nordkapp (Havly) is a different and exciting hotel, having been originally a shelter created by the Lutherans who welcomed the passing fishermen and visitors in town, offering them food and shelter as well as access to education and religious ceremonies in the chapel – now known as a Havly restaurant. Arctic Hotel Nordkapp has a fantastically good and central location in the city centre, in a main street Storgata, within local shops, grocery shops, restaurants, bus station to Nordkapp, and cultural offerings. Within minutes walking from most of the attractions of the city. The Hurtigruten Terminal and Nordkapp Museum are only 250 m (3 minutes) away. There is a grocery store, a bank and a pharmacy only few meters away. It will take you three minutes walking to reach tourist information center and the main bus stop. The airport is 4.2 km away. Arctic Hotel is the oldest hotel in Honningsvag offering you an economy class rooms with private bathrooms and free wifi access. There is a place to store your luggage. f requested in advance, your furry friend can stay at our hotel. We have HAVLY restaurant at the premises. Cosy, industrial style restaurant offering stunning and mouthwatering dishes.

Nice hotel in a great location to get to the North Cape and take advantage of the 24 hour ticket to Nordkapphallen.
The room was small, so much so that we had to put our suitcase on the carpet, but comfortable.
The spacious bathroom, with wall-mounted hairdryer and large shower with cubicle.
Very kind staff.
The breakfast was plentiful and complete.
Parking along the street is free from 5pm to 9am.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Hurtigruten terminal. One word of advice, you should be as accurate as you can regarding your arrival time as there is no permanent staff at the reception and you can't enter the building without a security code (obtained when you check in). You can call the staff by phone but you might not receive an answer roght away. Fortunately there are a couple of cafés/bars on the street if you need a warm place to wait. The desk lady was nice and helpful when I eventually got inside the hotel :-)
There is no elevator so be ready for some lifting in order to reach your room. The staircase felt a little bunker-like (mostly bare concrete), but the room was really nice, with a pleasant view on the street (almost zero traffic while I was there, so really quiet).
The breakfast buffet was excellent: you had you choice of bread, jam, ham & bacon, cheese, cereals... very good value for the price IMHO. The associated Havly reataurant serves excellent food for luncg or dinner (price not included).
Overall a very pleasant stay. Recommended if you don't have any problem moving your luggage upstairs!

Decent clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, situated in the centre of Honningsvag, menu ok though not very international, breakfast good but not outstanding, but recommended - fair value, and the liveliest place in the area

Old,no lift, it would also be passable (the room was clean, good breakfast) but the person who manages it is the most unpleasant character we have ever seen, totally unsuitable for managing an accommodation facility. First of all there is almost never anyone at the reception, just entering the hotel is challenging as the door is always closed, the character in question gets annoyed at every simple and obvious request, such as booking a table for dinner (annoyingly he explained that on January 1st the choice would be limited because he hadn't done the shopping and had no waiters, as if this depended on by customers); or like the very simple request to call a taxi for the next morning (he immediately said that it would be very difficult to find available taxi drivers, at which point i called the Honningsvag taxi number and within 30 seconds we had the taxi booked); and finally, he ignored our request to leave us a breakfast bag for the morning of checkout since we had to leave at 5 am, which we were assured upon arrival. Furthermore, the only hotel we have ever stayed in that didn't even have a kettle of water in the room. I hope that the hotel can change management as soon as possible.

Nice surprise that this Pension, whose façade, in the center of Honningsvag, does not attract attention at first sight!...
But the "wealth" is the team, Lithuanian and of incredible friendliness, thoughtfulness, and kindness!
Delicate at the reception, at the restaurant, with a small menu, certainly not very provided, but of very good quality.
Encumbered by things to wash, the boss offered us to take them home to spend them in the machine, return the next day (we stayed there 3 nights), with a smile and the pleasure of having been able to help!
Go without reservation, you will not be disappointed with the final stage of the "North Cape"!

Very nice hotel on the Main Street. Lovely paintings all around. Rooms are clean, not very big but you only need a bed to sleep into! Breakfast is very good. The staff is really nice and very helpful! Just keep in mind they do not have an elevator and I’m not sure if they have rooms on the bottom floor (they did bring my suitcase down for me)

Location is right in the middle of town and only on-street parking available (free until 0900 am)

Mattresses are completely worn out, lumpy and hard. Should have been replaced a long time ago.

Walls and floors/ceiling are paper thin and talk & snoring from other rooms are fully audible.

Clean but super small bathroom.

Friendly staff but reception not 24hrs. Phone number is available.

Restaurant Havly closed on Mondays

Breakfast included

The lounge area and corridor leading to it smelled mouldy/damp and felt chilly but my room smelled fresh due to the window that didn't close properly. The room was small. A bigger person could have some difficulties fitting in to the toilet seat and shower. Bed was uncomfortably hard. Noise carried out from the corridor and from the street so bring your earplugs. It felt like a renovation had been done in a hurry or that it wasn't complete yet.

Breakfast was fine. The usual bacon and egg three ways. The breakfast area and the lounge were beautifully decorated with art. The room decoration or any of the decorations in the hotel had nothing to do with the arctic or North Cape.

Room Tip: A really tall or broad-build person won't fit into a room for one.
