This Resort offers a wonderful variety of food at breakfast and at dinner and it has a very good location in order to the 'Calas' on the east side of the island, like Cala Creta and Cala Pisana, and continuing that road it goes on the wild north side of the island. Basic accommodation are ok, probably I would go next time for the 'suite' considering also the small difference in price. Occupancy rate quite high so it is important to book early. Sicilian couple managing the Resort, they are very nice and affable. Very easy going. Clientele was made mostly by Italians from the North.
In this hotel they keep horses in an area in the sun all day, without any shelter !!. The horses are returned to their stables in the evening. They try to go in the shade (under a tree, which consist of a very small shady part) during the afternoon there is no shade at all !! This is pure cruelty.
Lampedusa in a small island full of cozy spots, amazing blue sea , little "calas" and friendly relaxed people...you will enjoy it at its best by renting a scooter and strolling around , trying local "arancini di pesce" or "granite with panna" at local Via Roma bars . Costa House is the ideal place to stay if you are looking for an extremely quiet, welcoming place serving food for Gods (by the way Pope Francesco was here and ate here...) and a landlord, Giuseppe, who will do everything to make you feel at home . Also Staff is extremely friendly and funny, Suite rooms are large and all the rest is just perfect. Don't miss the boat trip with Pasquale ...great guy and lots of true (?!) stories about Lampedusa. GRAZIE GIUSEPPE! we loved every minute of it - Cristina and Fabio
This place is excellent in all aspects..To say everything, the entrance from the main street is not that welcoming but as soon as you enter the drive it is something else..The place is extremely well kept, tidy and clean. The owner and hosts are very friendly and they immediately see to your needs and make you feel at home. The room facilities are all good and food is superb with good value for money..My special thanks goes to Peppe, the owner.
Much which had been said in the previous comments is true. However, to praise the food there is widely exaggerated. I have had 3 dinners and all were below anything one would expect in Italy; in particular the pasta dishes were terrible. Cleanliness and friendly service need praise. It would howevr be nice if a room with 3 beds could provide more than on glass cup in the bathroom and if there would be chairs and a small table in the room. The Wi-Fi is available only in the reception area. It would cost only about 100.- Euro to install two Wi-fi repeaters in the outside corridors to allow reception in the rooms.
