Enjoy delicious food and excellent service in a romantic manor house setting. The Manor's versatile conference and banquet facilities and the surrounding nature offer a unique setting for memorable events ranging from top-management meetings for ten participants to garden parties for 500. The Manor is operated on a pre-booking basis and its services are designed to satisfy even the most demanding conference and banquet organisers. The hotel of the manor has 23 spacious twin-bedded rooms with all modern conveniences, two Finnish saunas and a Turkish steam bath. The Hotel was opened in April 2003 and it is located in a beautiful, early 20th Century red brick building, which originally served as a cowshed. Architecturally, everything worth keeping has been retained, particularly the building's beautiful exterior. Interior design represents a cosy country hotel style with warm wooden furnishings and a big fireplace in the lobby.

I visited the place since we had company workshop for about 15 persons. But this place could well be a place for bigger family parties. It has about 14 modern hotel rooms that can accommodate 28 people. Nice surrounding, good food and interesting wine cellar.

We stayed here two days for a workshop in February. The premises, rooms and service have a potential to get 5* rating, but in my opinion the level was not there yet during our stay. The room and public areas were kept absolutely clean, excellent job done there. Food was very good and there was plenty of it served during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The small things which could be noticed and therefore impact my rating were issues in the service and in the room. In our case during a 2-night stay my door key had to be changed twice as it stopped working both days once in the evening, once at the check out time (not my check out day). When I contacted the reception, sure I got a new key but no apologies or any mention that someone will take action that this repeating issue will be corrected. During lunch and dinner the food was served too slowly for the group: we were all the time behind the given schedule and a lot of time just sitting in the table and waiting. For business guests this is not acceptable. In case of the room there were two issues: the lack of black-out curtains and the poor sound proofing which made the stay less comfortable than could have been. It was not enjoyable to listen our neighbour to have his teleconferences and family calls in the adjacent room as clearly as he had been in the same room with us. Be also sure to ask to be located away from the lobby, if you want to avoid the bar area where the guests can spend time in the evenings.

Cost of the stay here is above the standard chain hotels in Finland, but on the other hand you will also get an unique experience of the old buildings and premises with all the modern amenities.

I stayed here a few days during a work meeting. The place is conveniently located (Tampere / Helsinki), and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. I stayed at the hotel, had daily meeting in Makasiini meetin room, ate at the mansion, and had dinner ay Katranon mylly (i think it was called).

The rooms are very nice, clean and big. The food is superb and service to match. The whole visit was fully enjoyable and I will be returning!

My only compaint was the Makasiini meeting room (built inside an old farm shed / outbuilding) was too small for the group (~20 people), and the AC was done by opening a window (too cold for me in November).

Katinen manor is very cosy hotel with beautiful and exotic surroundings. Our room was very clean and had a country style athmosphere. The hotel lobby was very cosy. Would recommend this to anyone from business travellers to families.
