If you are staying here and want a drink, you'd better be quick about it. We just slipped under the wire at 5.30, just before the lady went off home. This prepares you for Port Fairy itself, which all closes early. We got a pizza in a restaurant which saw us out at 8.15, locking the door behind us. Our...

Our party of 4 had dinner at the Merrijig Inn recently. We were not staying in-house. The meal was good, but BEWARE: when we received our bill, we had been overcharged $10 on a $45 bottle of wine, and three of our four main courses 'accidentally' had $2.00 added to their price. Not a huge amount, but the principal is...

We stayed here for two nights whilst travelling from Adelaide to Melbourne. WOW,,,,,, what a choice...... we came across this quirky boutique style accommodation purely by chance whilst searching the Internet. There was immediately just something special about the Merrijig, that we opted to stay for two nights, our only regret is we didn't book for longer.. Booking direct with...

This restaurant set the bar for outstanding food and quality, friendly and intuitive service; we loved our dinner and the conviviality of the staff. The wine list is outstanding also. We were as we departed delighted by how reasonable the bill was after such a generous meal. We'll book to stay in the accommodation next time we're working down here.

We had only one night at the Merrijig but would highly recommend it. We had a lovely three room suite with lots of quirky touches (if it doesn't move, cover it with something knitted, crocheted or hand sewn!). The bar in the garden was fabulous, loved the shed-bar! Best of all was the amazing food which was so fresh (lots...

We have spent a night at this charming inn on our way to the great ocean road. Cozy rooms, delicious breakfast with homemade products, excellent meals in the restaurant and a cool garden bar. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Should one want to do the Great Ocean Road in leisurely fashion vs one day long bus trip, this is a MUST see stop. The accommodations were inviting and extremely comfortable, the meals were absolutely delicious with only fresh ingredients and the people made the visit special. We were just a short walk from town or the river for nice...

Merrijig Inn is the oldest inn in Victoria, it has an amazing atmosphere, with fluffy chickens in the garden, home made bread and a busy garden bar & restaurant. The king suite was huge with 3 rooms that felt very homely. Staff was really helpful and friendly.

Very quaint hotel, loads of character. Staff very friendly and great restaurant - evening dinner was excellent and breakfast was good too (although a little strange that only one coffee included and any extras have to be paid for). Also liked the guest sitting area and tea/coffee facilities. Our room was quite small and a little cramped with big suitcases...
