Port Fairy is a lovely little place and the hostel is a great place to stay. It's quiet, well-equipped and has off-street parking. Bathrooms and bedrooms are clean, though be aware that there aren't a lot of showers as in other larger hostels. The lady who runs it is friendly and helpful; it's a very easy, laid-back place to stay.

Stayed for one night and booked online. When we booked there was only a twin room left, when we turned up we were offered a double without asking so that was cool. The room was really clean and so were the bathrooms/showers. I would stay there again happily.

Being a smaller hostel and out in the country, this place lacks the modern, stylish look and feel of the city YHAs. But it's also half the price. The country cottage feeling was lovely. The window creaked all night and the bed was rather hard, but the heater kept the room gloriously warm and for $26, it was better than...

Rather than repeat another review I rate the "Little Gem" review a few reviews back. It is fair and accurate in my opinion. Port Fairy YHA is an ideal place to stay a night or two while exploring this delightful town or starting or finishing the Great Ocean Road. Historic and friendly.

The road finally turns away from the sea, and it was a 60 km dash in front of the setting sun to the historic town of Port Fairy, where I am to stay the night at the Port Fairy Hostel. This seaside hamlet was settled in 1835, making it one of the oldest on this part of the mainland. Whalers...

We stayed here for one night on our road trip from Adelaide to Melbourne and loved the quaint outbuildings in which we stayed. We had a double room at the top of an old barn/stable which was a good size. The bathroom facilities were a little dated, but all in good working order, as was the kitchen. The staff were...

Nice hostel, a bit run down, in a charming little village. The lady at the front desk was nice and our room was clean too. It was a nice stay for one night. There is a beautiful little island nearby, you should check it out!

Definitely recommendable. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hostel has nice shared areas like kitchen, BBQ site and a garden. I had a double room for myself in what seemed like old stables or some storage shack, renovated obviously. It felt really nice to sleep there.

Hidden way and placed back from the street this Hostel was perfectly located in the middle of town and round the corner from the high street, with all the local amenities and restaurants! The Welcome was first rate and our room was cosy and warm! We were given a small room in one of the old coaching sheds at the...

This hostel is situated in the picturesque town of Port Fairy. When I arrived there I was a little bit early for checking in. The manageress was not very friendly but she did let me in my room already. I had the 4 bed dorm to myself for the night, which was a nice little extra. The beds were on...

“I had no problem with the place. Although the people in the room next door were a bit noisy but otherwise it was fine. It has a garden setting to sit and relax. Great area for cooking meals and an area to watch TV with fellow travelers. Eating places are within walking distance as is the Moyne RIver Pt Fairy Wharf and Griffith Island where mutton birds can be seen at seasonal times.”
