Great location and cheap. But felt dirty and worn compared to other backpackers we have stayed at. Very basic. Bunk beds felt like ships- every movement sends the entire bed rocking. Common areas were scruffy and I think rarely cleaned if at all. Not somewhere I would stay again.

We luckily only stayed for 1 night. We originally booked an apartment to have some privacy and a kitchenette. When we arrived the manager told us that he gave the apartment to a family because they came with children... we could alternatively stay in a 4 bed dorm which was in a very bad state. It was also very loud...

Stayed for one night and we were glad we didn't stay longer. We were advised by Booking.com (through which we had booked the beds) to call and advise which time we would arrive. So we did and the person on the other end just said something like "Yeah, ok..". So, upon arrival, around 5pm, we were surprised to find nobody...

This was a terrible place to stay It was grotty. The common room was very tatty with frayed and grubby couches. The toilets were dirty and smelly. The showers equally were grubby with hair in the showers and sinks. The bunks were rickety and the pillows stained Yuck!

The apartment we had smelled like dogs had lived there. The benches were dirty with food and drink spills and the carpet was visibly dirty with hair and sand on it. Not cheap .. would not go back and would not recommend .. unless you're happy to clean the place yourself when you get there!!

The place was nice, clean and well located in Apollo Bay. Warm lounge to hang out. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Good breakfast included and wifi worked perfectly! Great value for money.

We stayed here on July 2012. It was a very nice place to stay during our trip in the Great ocean road. The host was very friendly and helpful. He suggested us a couple of restaurants for dinner that night. The next morning, he went to the supermarket in front of the lodge and bought fresh products. The breakfast was...

The lodge is quite affordable and can fit families to their convenience as there are shared kitchen facilities and living hall as well. Check in was easy and Raj the staff was friendly and helpful. Though the look and feel should be upgraded, as they look shabby and old, it serves the purpose and would recommend for few nights.

Really friendly hostel In a quiet town, got upgraded to a couples room by the host who was absolutely amazing. Alex, is hands down one of the loveliest managers we've met on our 4 month trip. She couldn't help enough and offered lots of advice for food/ drink/ where to stay on the next leg of the journey, as well...

The lodge is a great spot, exellent facilities and great lounge room. Breakfast is an added bonus! Alex, who runs the place, is a complete hero. She went above and beyond to look after me for the whole time I stayed here (including being my nurse when I was sick!) - she is an absolute essential to Apollo Bay Lodge!...
