Our stay certainly lived up to our expectations. I surprised my husband for our 15 year wedding anniversary. The spa room was lovely, spacious and quiet. We were left a bottle of sparkling wine and personal letter for our anniversary, which was a wonderful and thoughtful.

I stayed here for the weekend for my husbands birthday. The property is beautiful. Rooms are classic country style, without being old fashioned. Service is what you'd expect in a 5 star venue, with the concierge very knowledgeable and helpful. The grounds are lovely and the

Not sure what Australia considers 5 star luxury but this is not according to American standards. The hotel room decoration I knew would be outdated but the bed was horrible. The sheets felt like 150 thread count scratchy itchy sheets. The mattress pad was very lumpy and

Are there nearby restaurants and cafes within walking distance?
Not much choice within walking distance in afraid. We drove to a great little restaurant about 10 minutes away.

Hi Kathy, do not stay in the valley view studio, it is in a separate apartment style.complex on the grounds and the valley view is actually a carpark, pool and tree branch view. I strongly recommend Echoes instead or a room in the actual lilianfels building. Having said that, the facilities and staff are just amazing! hope this isn't too late getting to you!

How do you get there, with luggage, from the train station?
Agee with above: too far to walk...a long way even without luggage. Taxis should be available near station, but if not, call the hotel. Make sure you take their number with you.
