The WORST hostel I have ever stayed at. I spent 4 nights here with my boyfriend and another female friend. First of all, upon arrival we were asked to pay extra money because the host said the listing price online was only for one person. They blamed Airbnb for this mistake. Beware of this when booking. After this was sorted...

as soon as we walked up to the place we could tell it was going to be unpleasant. It felt very unsafe and didn't have a nice feel to it. The man who owns it was very rude and seemed a bit too keen to grab your money off you before you can even look around the place (what a...

Unbelievable unfriendly personal. He shouted when we just entered the facility that we are the reason that he missed his lunch and that we have to hurry up. After paying the guy I asked him for a receit, he asked me three times if I'm really really sure I want to have one, because he's now missing his lunch with...

Rooms not prepared on entry. One room stunk of urine. Staines on beds. The next morning showers and bathrooms were filthy, there was vomit and pubic hair in the basins and toilets were that dirty we used the public toilets at the beach. Terrible!!!!

Check in took more than 30 minutes despite no line up because reception lack customer service skills and organization. Rooms were very messy and stinky where I actually saw an abandoned bag underneath the bed with cockroaches munching on leftovers from an old lunchbox and empty dominoes pizza box. toilets were muddy and wet, with shaved hair all over the...

I booked this hostel last minute and since it was in Coogee, I was hoping it would be cheaper than Bondi or the CBD. On their website I saw 26 AUD which is okay, but when I saw the bill, it was 39 AUD. Apparently they have very small conditions stating that Friday and Saturday are 39$. If the hostel...

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
