What a great location across the road from Coogee Beach but such an ordinary bistro with a very boring menu. Ordered the buffalo wings for a starter, the wings were ok, nothing exciting but they came with a disgusting blue cheese aioli, it tasted like plastic dead socks if there is such a thing, I have had blue cheese dressings...

Love, love, love this hotel! Beautiful views! Great rooms! Very convenient to both beach (across the street) and bus service to downtown Sydney. Nice cafe and pub located in the hotel. The staff absolutely make this hotel like a home away from home. I became very sick the day of our departure and we had several hours from normal checkout...

We visited the hotel for lunch on Anzac Day, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had checked out a few other Menus on the way there, and found there menu to be the best. Our lunch came out in a timely manner, and tasted delicious, it was a nice day, so it was really nice to sit back relax and...

As a local who had not been to the Coogee Bay for quite a while, I thought on a perfect autumn day I would take my mother out for lunch. Firstly the menu trying too hard to be like the new foodie restaurants, minimal and not exciting. When we finally decided on lunch, fish and chips and rump steak The...

What a shame... Such a beautiful venue although it fills up quickly around meal times and the food and service is not that great. We got the seafood platter to share and although there was enough food it was overcooked. Took forever to get a drink and you would think for a well established venue that they would know that...

It was the only accommodation available on the night. Wasn't expecting much but the room was large and comfortable. The window open onto a large balcony and the view was of the sea. I slept with the window open and could hear the waves all night. Loved it.

Stayed here for one night for work, bedroom clean, beds comfortable, can hear lift going up and down all night, toilet cistern refilling every 5 minutes all night, mound in the bathroom very very poor. Check in was poor when we got our keys to the room they didn't open the room had to go back to reception change rooms.

I stayed in the Boutique section of this large hotel - that is, our room was not above the licenced premises. Our room was large, clean and nicely furnished with a comfy king size bed. We requested an ocean view, which put the price at nearly $300 a night and were lucky enough to get a room with a balcony...

Each time I happen to end up at his place it just gives me a Bad vibe, has lazy staff, has power hungry miserable bouncers that will be stuck in front of that door for a while due to lack of self worth, very average food and it's a shame because the location is prime. Won't return.

Arrived in Coogee with no accommodation. Only hotel was Coogee Bay at $155 per night in the Pub style accommodation so we didn't expect it to be palatial. It was basic but the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was old but everything worked just fine.

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
