The location of the Coogee Sands hotel is great, being right on Coogee beach and right near parks, walks and tons of places to eat. I was a little disappointed in the accommodation as I thought an "Ocean view Deluxe Studio" would have been bigger but it was still adequate. There was a small balcony overlooking the park with a...

My wife and I luckily got a last minute studio here. The room was clean and large. Nice and quiet. All staff members were friendly. The hotel is located right on the beach. With the rooms having a nice outlook. Free parking too is a great bonus. Highly recommended.

The terrace studio was our stunning home for 1 night where we were able to entertain a few friends but our car got to stay in the secure underground carpark for a week while we flew up to QLD. The room, the beach view, the staff, the peace of mind re our car while we were in QLD - all...

Very nice and helpful staff. I stayed on level 5 which was delightful. Can understand some reviews about noise, but it is a hotel in a very, very busy area. After saying this i had no real bad experience and my stay was pleasant and warm. I highly recommend this place.

This hotel is noisy !! OK it’s not in the outback of course, Street noise is prominent at times, the windows are not insulated and basically the cheap sliding domestic ones. People staying here can't seem to not slam the doors ! You can hear other guests in the next room bashing and crashing around. The plumbing (yes that kind...

Not much to say, just look at the photos... When I spoke to the receptionist, who was one of those young, pretty things who thinks she is God's gift to the world, just shrugged her shoulders and gave me one of those looks.... "you old fart, why would I even bother speaking to you..."

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times over the past five years. You won't find friendlier staff or better service anywhere in Sydney. The rooms aren't ultra modern but are exceptionally clean and spacious with large opening windows for fresh sea air, nice sofa, microwave/kitchenette and very comfy beds (most important!). Of course the best part is...

This hotel isn't the most modern you've stayed in, but it has everything you'll need, and the rooms are fairly quiet. The location, however, is unbeatable at 100m to the beach. I stay here regularly on my visits to UNSW and each time I look forward to the morning walks/runs along the beaches, straight out of the hotel.

Great location, just next to the beach. Our room was towards the back of the building, without a sea view. Would have been worth the extra to get the view, if you are staying for an extended period. Room was clean and decent size, no complaints.

we stayed here overnight before flying home from Sydney. A lovely room overlooking the bay with a small balcony and free underground parking. A nice roof top terrace as well if you are planning a longer stay-with access to a BBQ. Friendly helpful staff.

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
