Stayed for 11 days had many family members with us. A couple things needed service in the room and Willy was quick and efficient. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Pamela was the best very attentive and professional
We orginally booked a local AIRBNB to a local house. What a disaster, mosquitos everywhere. No tv. broken fans and no air conditioning and NOT suitable for wheelchair. At 9 pm we went scurring around and ended up at Marilar. Owner and staff were extremely understanding and accommodating. We share a large 2 bedroom 1st floor apt. The place was clean, bright and most importantly wheelchair accessible waterfront/ pool unit for disabled family member. We had a lovely time. Owners were friendly and accommodating. They rescued our 3 days from an otherwise disasterous vacation. We still had to pay for the useless airbnb, but at least we managed to share a beautiful time in Las Terrenas. We woill always think fondly of this place.
It’s a good choice if you want to be on the beach (Colibri beach, a nice one). Staff is ok, room is nice and big, good WiFi, there is parking place. Close to Pueblo de los Pescadores, the restaurant and nightlife area (15 minutes walk or just take one of these bike taxis, it will cost you 2 USD - 100 pesos per person). Didn’t try the pool but it looks nice and you can use it after sunset! Nice balcony, AC in the living room and bedroom. No breakfast, but you can just cross the street and have breakfast on the sand ;-)
It was a perfect place. We had a wonderful and relaxing time there. The apartment was spacious and clean with good security. It was quiet with stunning beach front view. Both Inez and Luigi are so very hospitable and friendly. They are always there to help you with any questions or assistance you may need. In addition, the food at Eden by the beach just in front of the hotel is excellent and further down the road just a short walk also a good Italian place.
We have stayed at Marilar before and enjoyed it so much we had to go back. We arrived late from the drive over from Puerto Plata airport but Julie was still waiting for us and greeted us with a smile. We were on top floor #10 this time (thank you Luca!) and the view of Playa Ballenas is amazing! Our rental car wouldn't start after we got there but Julie hooked us up with a motoconcho for runs into town the next morning and Ines let us call back to Avis on the office phone to arrange for another vehicle because Verizon (our American carrier) messed up the international calling arrangements. Just wonderful, helpful staff where our personal problems were taken care of. Every room has a terrace facing the playa with tile floors throughout. Air conditioned, ceiling fans, king size bed and safe for passports & money. Granite countertops in the kitchen with all the plates, glasses, cups, pots & pans and a coffee maker. Tiled bathroom and walk-in shower, just a beautiful place. When we are in Las Terrenas it is the only place we will stay. An intimate spot just far enough away to be quiet at night but still close enough to walk the beach to Pueblo de los Pescadores if so inclined. Thanks again to Luca, Ines, Julie, Luigi and of course Ronaldo who kept our tummies full on the playa with whatever food we wanted & Presidente's! Dan & Bev…
