What an amazing trip! Country was beautiful and we will be back. The palace was just about perfect. Hotel was clean and staff was so friendly during the week. Only issue was on the weekend when the resort was much fuller than when we got there. The staff seemed stretched thin, messes weren't cleaned up as quickly and it was...

We stayed at Riu Palace for 4 nights after spending 4 nights inland by volcano. loved everything about Riu Palace EXCEPT the snorkel trip we booked & did right off the property: epic fail (my hubby left a separate review on The Sea Shell b/c it was $75/each! water was rough, visibility sucked, gear was fogging up/falling off, not enough...

We've just returned after spending a week at the Riu Palace. We found everything to be high standard, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and the bed was huge! My only criticism would be that there is not enough shade on the sun beds. The ones with the umbrellas and shade go very quickly but...

Just got back from a two week stay at the RIU Palace Costa Rica. The time went so quickly as there was much to entertain us. The beach is not the white sand like the Dominican or Cuba but more of a brown and black mixture likely because of the volcanic activity which helped to form the country. It is...

No smoking in hotel was very welcome and appreciated. The food was very good, only down side was no reservations for a la carte restaurants, would much rather book before hand. Went to steak house one evening queued outside for 20 mins to be told 15/20 mins wait. sat down in waiting area for 40 mins ( no drinks were...

Staff was excellent rooms and grounds were well kept and clean but the food in the theme restaurants was disappointing but the biggest complaint was that the resident scavenger birds "the grackles" they dive bombed us during breakfast taking food off our plates if we turned our head and landing on the food in the lunch buffet by the pool...

Check in was quick. This hotel is very modern with 4 a la carte restaurants and a great buffet. At the Italian, we loved the lamb chops, had lobster at the steakhouse and enjoyed the Japanese and Fusion restaurants. There is also a great coffee bar and 24 hour snack bar. Our room was good with a minibar and fridge...

This was by far one of the best vacations I've taken. Weather was a little too hot but well worth the stay. The hotel itself and its staff made you feel like you were a king. If anyone takes a vacay here, definitely a must to stay at the Palace. The food was beyond amazing. Never a wait for the...

What can I say....I LOVED Costa Rica! Unbelievably wonderful, relaxing vacation. Beautiful resort, staff is friendly, and extremely helpful. The surroundings are very serene, this is not a party atmosphere. The food is ample and very good. Pools are beautiful, grounds are very well kept. The very best part is the wildlife. Birds, iguanas, frogs and the area surrounding the...
