Chose Papakura to stop a little out of town and avoid traffic, Colonial was close to motorway off ramp & so easy to get to. Recently refurbished, nice looking and clean, seperate double bedroom, one or two singles in lounge. Recommend to any family - a few minutes to the rail station, 10 minutes to Rainbows End

This is a good location to stay if visiting Napier. It is in Taradale, a village like suburb and 3 minute walking distance to takeaways, cafes, restaurants and other shops including a 4square supermarkt. Importantly its quiet. Room size is good and it offers a 3 bedroom family unit also. Only 10 minutes drive to Napier cbd or 2 minutes... More

We stayed at Colonial for 5 nights as we were attending a netball tournament at Bill Pulman Park. Our accomodation was a Family Unit consisting of 1 bedroom with open lounge/full kitchen facilites and a very large and spacious bathroom with shower. There was an additional single bed in the lounge area. We were amazed at the size and cleanliness... More

Very clean and spacious motel with plenty of parking space. I stayed here with my family while traveling in New Zealand. The location was very convenient for us. Owners were friendly and helpful. The pool was a nice bonus.

I stayed for two nights. I really liked the room I had, it had more character than a lot of motel rooms I have stayed in, very clean and spacious with full amenities. I was impressed that I also had an oven in the kitchen to use rather than just a microwave. The decor was modern and looked newly decorated.... More

Stayed at the motel for 13 nights while our home was being fixed. In this time the sheets were never changed, and bed was rarely made. The bin outside the rooms smelt the place out terribly and was constantly overfilled. Location is right by the motorway (Southern) thus extremely noisy regardless of whether windows are open or shut. The owner... More

Was clean tidy, we were lucky to have a newly furnished, very basic, but okay considering I was ill & needed rest. The owner was friendly, but took $100 cash deposit, in case "I smoked in the room" when we returned key the next morning, he sent his wife to smell our room, and gladly gave my deposit back, I... We stayed in a 4 bed unit. the beds were nice and firm with clean linen. Our unit had a small kitchen which had everything you need. This motel is just off the motorway, meaning easy access but also some noise from the motorway. The only bugbear would be the shower. Lovely hot water but the shower head meant only... More

Thankfully we only stayed a couple of nights here. The room itself was fine, quite spacious with a full kitchen, unfortunately there were only 2 saucepans and 1 frying pan though, and a beautiful bathroom. It was clean and serviced, sort of, daily. There is a back door which leads out to a nice grass area, with trees that block... More

I had to go to the North Shore, Auckland very briefly late evening to pick up a car but stay overnight. The intention was to drive south the next day. I was advised to select a motel south of the bridge rather than on the North Shore to avoid the Auckland traffic flows in the morning. After looking through options... More
