Stunning house with fascinating history surrounded by beautiful gardens. Coupled with that was the warm and genuine reception you get from the hosts. Can't fault the accommodation for the hosts, comfort, hospitality, quality and all round experience of our short stay there. Thank you.

We were warmly greeted by Debbie as soon as we drove up to this charming Edwardian House. Debbie offered us warm tea/coffee with a slice of her father's (88 yrs. young) baking, a moist and delicious cake, a recipe handed down from her great grandmother which she graciously offered the recipe when asked. Hands down this was one of the... More

This property is not only beautiful, but run impeccably by its owners, Debbie and Paul. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms modern and well equipped, and the common space is very cozy. Canapés and wine are served every evening by the fire and breakfast is delicious.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Debbie, we knew we were going to love it here! Our only regret was not getting to stay more than one night. Wonderful property, beautiful room and amazing host. If you're going to be in Hastings, make sure you spend your nights here!

We stayed for one night at Hawthorne House on our quick tour of the north island. Debbie greeted us as we drove in and called us by our first names from that point forward. We were shown to our very comfy rooms in this beautifully restored old mansion that had been relocated from Hastings proper some years ago (in pieces!).... More

Debbie and Paul we love you! You have been so helpful and generous from booking to departure, you are definitely part of the success of our holiday. Debbie did all the bookings for us: tours, restaurants, golf. At the time I had no idea she was a famous and busy singer. I don’t know when she finds time to do... More

A beautiful house set in its own ground, surrounded by lawns and gardens. Loads of original early 20th C features - yet tastefully modernised. Paul & Debbie provided us with a personal service - suggesting places to visit; booked a winery tour on our behalf; and, reserved a table for us at a local restaurant. Breakfast was excellent. While on a recent trip to the North Island we had the good fortune to spend a couple of nights at Hawthorne House. Our gracious hosts, Debbie and Paul, made our stay a very memorable one. Our room was beautifully decorated, as were all the common areas. Breakfasts were fantastic. We couldn’t recommend Hawthorne House more highly.
