Ever wanted to feel like royalty on travels? As a budget/backpacker traveller I normally dont stay at castles :P but this was worth the money. I came originally only for the winery (Chateau Topolcianky, one of the best wines in Slovakia) but the hotel with its ambience and the park that belongs to it made my day really really relaxing. Rooms are comfy, spacious and clean. One of the highlights of my Slovakia trip.

The hotel is in a quiet area of the city Topolčianky with a large park and greenery. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Rooms at the hotel are on the floors, no elevator. Many are located far from the hotel entrance and reception, which can be a problem, particularly for the elderly and mothers with strollers. Rooms at the hotel were very nicely decorated and modern. Beyond the beds, table and cabinets, there was also an LCD TV. Room was clean. Bathroom was not big but sufficient. Surprised especially wide shower. Breakfast is administered at a local restaurant within the castle. They were very simple, not a great selection of food, but they were tasty and fresh. Lacked fruit and juices. Food was on the table evidenced gradually, we had to wait bring new. During our stay, the restaurant and bar closed due to private events. As guests, we were reliant go to eat outside the hotel.

We were greeted at reception by Janka Sladeckova who was totally amazing to us during our stay. We had the good fortune to stay in the Presidential Suite and Janka organised everything for us beautifully. It is well worth it if you can stretch yourself that little bit. The Suite was superb and the restaurant food excellent as were the Spa facilities. Nothing was too much for Janka to arrange; she always went the extra mile to make our stay of the highest quality. We will definitely return and can wholeheartedly recommend Topolcianky to everyone. Janka will always do everything to make your stay a memorable one.

This place will always hold a special place in our hearts as it's where we got married. We had the most amazing day ever and all of our guests from the UK stayed here. The staff were ok but not quite up to the standard you would hope to get in the UK, particularly when it came to organizing a wedding, it's pretty much all D.I.Y in Slovakia, they are a bit behind when it comes to service, but it couldn't take the shine off the best day of our lives!

Have spent just one night in this castle hotel. Really liked the quiet surroundings and park. The room was spacious, matrace not too soft rather hard (which I prefer). The castle iself looks brilliant. The car park is some 100m walk, but you can drive the car to the gate and unload your luggage and park later. Hotel restaurant is just average. If your ears are really good, carefull. the castle has some old clock that chime every 1/4 hour. Even though this is not so loud, some people might find it disturbing and there is nowhere to run away from the bell :-) WIFI only in some rooms, but they provide LAN cable for laptop users free of charge. NO AC in standard rooms (don't know about Luxury ones) but as the building is rather old the thick walls provide good shelter from summer heat (over 30°C at the time of our stay).
