Many thanks for posting your review! It is especially pleasing to know that your stay was so enjoyable, not least as it came about after a last-minute change to your travel plans and indeed you were celebrating your honeymoon! So I am delighted we were able to impress you so much. Great shots of a spectacular Kaikoura sunrise, by the...

As others have said, Kaikoura is open for business and would love to see tourism come back. Neil is an outstanding host and a wealth of knowledge about the area. We enjoyed our mountain view room immensely, views were breath taking. Sun in the afternoon, ocean view rooms have sun in morning so depends on which you prefer. Neil prepared...

Manakau Lodge is only four years old and beautifully set-up for guests. The King size bed is really comfy and the bathroom very well appointed and stocked with lovely toiletries. Choose the mountain view rooms. The sea is lovely but the mountains are even more so and watching the Silvereyes and Tuis tasting the flax in the garden and flitting...

Enjoyed two nights here. The lodge is about a twenty minute drive to Kaikoura. Tastefully furnished and bedrooms were spacious. Really liked the big shower and big fluffy towels. Neil, our congenial host cooked a good breakfast. We found the place very relaxing and peaceful but we're only sharing with one other couple.

Before I rave about this hotel, I'd like to say a few words about Kaikoura... Since the November earthquake, a lot of people have been avoiding Kaikoura because of the road closure to Blenheim. Tours have changed their itineraries and Kaikoura has been left off, which is what happened to me. Once my tour ended, I rented a car and...

Well, we couldn't ask for a more complimentary review than yours, and I am deeply grateful to you for having taken the trouble to write such an eloquent review of your stay, as well as your very helpful remarks about visiting Kaikoura. Manakau lodge is set in the hills overlooking Kaikoura. It is simply stunning. The lodge has 4 rooms and is relatively new, very nicely furnished to a very high standard. Quiet and effective air con was welcome as the temperature was v warm, but in the early mornings we opened the sliding doors and sat on our small veranda to...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a helpful and complimentary review of your stay with us. We are delighted that you were able to come, given the travel disruption which has affected our area this year, and we deeply appreciate your perseverance. I do hope your ongoing travels in New Zealand were equally enjoyable. Very best wishes.

Wow, triple wow is the only way to describe this wonderful place. Firstly the owner, Neil is the most attentive and helpful host. He is also a very fine chef and the food is outstanding. We knew we would be late arriving due to the travel problems since the November 2016 earthquake. Neil kindly welcomed us with the most delicious...

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was excellent. Immaculately clean, great wi fi, super bathroom and the most wonderful views of the mountains. The lodge is so peaceful. Neil was very helpful, his restaurant recommendations were spot on and his breakfasts were perfect. Coffee or tea and delectable biscuits were always available. We would recommend this lodge without hesitation.

An absolutely lovely venue, B&B style with hotel quality amenities if not even better. The room has wonderful views though a full wall of windows over an outdoor seating area. The wi fi is excellent, not with the Christchurch problems we experienced. Neil, our host, was very welcoming and his photography on display throughout the lodge is superb. His willingness...
