Great views, friendly staff. The rooms on first floor have strip pine finish, downstairs units are cheaper, and look it, with wall to wall carpet and tatty curtains. Generally a bit faded and in need of a refurb, but then again, you don't go to...More
You can enjoy great view of mountain and sea in the lounge. Very helpful owners. We were unlucky for whale watch because of bad weather, Owners recommended other activities in Kaikoura. Will definitely come back.

The Whale watch office is at the Kaikoura Railway Stn approx. 2.8km to the north of the Panorama Motel. Think you have to check into the Whale Watch office before your tour starts and they run a transfer bus from there to the South Bay jetty where the boats leave from. South Bay is approx. 4.5km to the south (over the hill) from the Panorama Motel. Whale watch is fantastic but just as amazing is the swimming with the Dolphins!
