We stayed here in November of 2015 but I hopped on here to get an update on where they were on earthquake recovery and wanted to leave a note! My husband and I stayed here our first night in New Zealand for our honeymoon after travelling by air for 25 hours and driving up the coast several hours from Christchurch....

How lovely of you to think of us and post your memory of the hotel. I am very pleased to report the rebuild is underway and the hotel on track to reopen November 2017, maybe sooner if we're lucky. The earthquake was devastating, no doubt about it. However, I must say, the emotional and insurance has been far worse. We...

This hotel is closed due to earthquake damage. We had booked this hotel before the earthquake and received ZERO notification from ether the hotel or the booking website that ALL reservations were canceled. We arrived in Kaikoura after a seven hour drive only then to learn we had no place to stay! Why were we not notified?!? We made this...

Dear reader, You can imagine our collective joy receiving this disgraceful critique of our hotel. Here, for the record, are the facts of the situation... 1. As a result of the massive November 14 earthquake, we have had to cancel over 3000 bookings. Let me tell you that's near impossible to achieve on mobile phones, so we advised our booking...

Great location, very helpful staff and lovely rooms with a fantastic view! So pleased with overall experience. Husband and I had such a nice time. Would have stayed longer if we could have. Thank you!

We were at Kaikoura for just one night and I am glad I picked this hotel myself. The hotel is run by Steve and his wife and they have amazing and super friendly staff. The location of this hotel is incredible. The street separates the hotel from the water line by about 30 feet and that's it, you have the...

We stayed in a small room in the courtyard to the rear of the property. The owners were very engaging and made useful recommendations about what to do during our stay in Kaikoura (including booking dinner reservations). Breakfast was a cold buffet and included a delicious range of bagels. The hotel is a little out of the main street of...

We arrived later than planned after a slightly scary drive up from Christchurch in the driving rain. Jen and Warren gave us a super warm welcome (and a nice cold drink in the lovely lounge bar) which was very much appreciated! They quickly sorted out dinner for us in a great pub restaurant a short stroll down the road. We...

Amazing place, nicely restored and stylish decor. Such friendly hosts, stunning breakfast and cosy and homely feel, with a great ambience. Great location close with lots of nice areas to sit outside. Handy to walk to the best place to dine in Kaikoura we found, overlooking the water as well. The breakfast was local salmon and bagels, soft boiled eggs and...

Loved our little double room. Luxe, contemporary and arty. Loads of natural light. It shows that a tiny, well-planned space can be charming. Lots of power points in all the right spots. And the NZ botanical bath products are a winner. Directly across from the beach.

Spent a single night here while touring New Zealand. The hotel is small, as was the room. A little bit of a tight fit with our baggage, but the bed and room was clean and comfortable. We loved the style and décor or the hotel, as well as the staff for being very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included in...

As someone who has traveled with children, and I loved it at the time, I'm now at an age I don't want to. So this place was just delightful. Beautifully appointed rooms, ours was on the corner facing the water, what views, sitting on the balcony with a nice glass of NZ wine. The included breakfast is delicious, and the...
