Gables Motor Lodge is a very neat and clean place. The beds were comfortable, the amenities were just nice for our stay. The staff was very helpful. They helped us with dinner reservation and the places to visit in Greymouth. We were about 10 minutes drive to the city centre and walking distance to some good restaurants. We were a...

We stayed on our way through from Punakiki to Franz Josef. A great place to stop for the night. Our chalet was immaculate, we found our bed extremely comfortable and the spa bath was a bonus. Laundry facilities are available on site. Go ahead book, you won't be disappointed.

Great room, girls loved having their own beds in the room, and comfy beds! Our hosts actually dried our clothes In their dryer as the guest one was busy and delivered our clothes to our room. Very cool. Close to the best restaurant in town - Recreation Hotel. Perfect.

Positives: - Good central location and parking in the premises - Rooms and facilities are very clean and best in class Can improve: - Wi-fi experience: It kept disconnecting half the time - They had a weird rule that you cant cook strong smelling foods in the room kitchen e.g. sea food. The reason was that it leaves lingering smell...

Hi Akshat, thanks for your positive comments. It is common practice for motels in New Zealand to not allow the cooking of strong smelling food in their units in order to avoid lingering odours that may be offensive to subsequent guests. We do provide an alternate method for cooking strong smelling food by having a covered BBQ with a gas...

We stayed only one night at the Gables Motor Lodge in Greymouth and enjoyed our stay. Staff were very, very helpful and suggested local attractions we could visit next day. The rooms (we had a 2 bedroom unit) were clean and very comfortable. We appreciated the free wifi although it dropped out for a couple of our devices. An evening...

We stayed here for 1 night on our way from Blenheim to the Glaciers. We had a 2 bedroom family unit and it was spacious and clean and well equipped. We appreciated the time taken by the owner to give us travel tips, especially the advice to head out to the wharf to see the sunset. Will be back again...

Good base for exploring the district including glaciers to the south. Motel was reasonably priced and comfortable with good size room. Hotel with restaurant serving good quality meals only 100 metres up the road. Greymouth itself not the most exciting place to visit , however the Monteith Brewery certainly worth a visit

Easy to find. Good reception! Rooms clean, on the older side in design and furnishing but neat, clean and functional. Bed fantastic. Pubs and shops close by. We only stayed the one night after getting off the TranzAlpine Train and collecting our rental car. Not a lot to do or see in Greymouth!

Stayed here overnight on a trip to Greymouth for a cricket trip, across the road is the aquatic centre. Very friendly staff, room was clean and the ammenities were good. I would stay here again if I was in town.
