Unlike a lot of people we had a really good stay at this hostel. Personally i am not a fan of hostel or backpackers and i do refer camping but this one was different. We arrived late which wasn't a problem and the manager just waited for us after we just called him up. He had tips for the area...

This place is miserable, RUDE STAFF, very strict, no drinking after 9:30 (thanks mom!) Lockers are the size of a shoebox and located on the other side of the building, hard beds that are too short for anyone remotely tall. Very very cold no heating.. And I'm Canadian! Mine as well sleep on the cold Concrete outside! The concrete is...

Because of numerous problems with young people drinking to excess & causing damage plus new drinking laws @ Xmas 2014 we have had to restrict excessive drinking on the premises which has upset those intent on getting wasted to the detriment of other quests. We enforce this rule @ 9.30 pm @ our discression if it is obvious those involved...

We had booked this hotel on booking.com and after miscalculation of the journey to Tames we realised we would be late for checking in. We called the reception and the manager starting to scream at us. We apologised and tried to make an arrangement but he didn't wanna know anything. SO RUDE!!! AVOID AT ALL COST

Our hrs are clearly adv on all our booking agents as well as our website. For security reasons 1 being our entrance is right on the roadside, we do not leave keys out for quests & have no staff avail after a certain time in a small town unlike bigger cities, we try & accom late comers for problems like...

The hostel is clean and tidy. Breakfast is standard. Bed and bedrooms were fine. It's clear that the proprietor strictly enforces her rules including no check in without ID, no alcohol after a certain hour, and quiet times after a certain hour. We were asked to turn the television down in the lounge at about 10:30, so this is definitely...

Stratford Tramping stayed, very roomy for us all, big kitchen and dining room. Great outdoor area to relax in. Large lounge room with TV and pool table. Craig organised for us to be dropped at Wakino so that we could bike back and 3 girls hired bikes from him. Great service. Breakfast set up for us. An ideal central place...

Facilities here for what you pay is really good value imo. A very nice kitchen and free breakfast in morning, clean bathrooms and lots of recreation areas to sit and relax. It's pretty central and you even get a morning shuttle if you want to tackle Pinnacles (I didn't get it) It was pretty quiet when I stayed so not...

I have stayed at Sunkist on a few of occasions. From Sunkist I have: completed the Pinnacles Walk, Sunkist offer transport too and from the start of the walk. Used Sunkist as a base to explore the beaches and small towns in the area, Last time I went to do the Rail Trail I hired a bike from Sunkist and...

Lovely old hotel, beautifully restored, but that's the extent of the positives! The 'hostess' was incredibly rude! Moaning and arguing from the moment we stepped through the door! Yes we were late, but we rang in advanced and what sort of accommodation business stops accepting customers at 8pm on a Friday? After moaning about that she argued for over 10...

BEWARE! unpleasant experience... The building and furnishing is nice but the hospitality and common kindness totally lacking. Just ask them why they were asked to leave the BBH network... The woman running the place would be better of running a B&B where you can charge a premium; here you get the feeling your just a burden and not paying enough....

Lovely hostel with beautiful big garden. Breakfast provided was basic, but nice and all you need. Rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very cute dogs and cats living at the hostel.

“Choose room 1 its the one we had for a double and apart from the lock on the window was great. This is one of the best Backpackers in New Zealand I have stayed in, the first for my wife too she loved the place. We are in our fifties and there was agood crowd mix young to old. And its reasonably quiet most of the day. The neighbours you hardly hear anything.”
