We have stayed at Auldington in Launceston a number of times and it never disappoints. James always greets us at reception and takes us to our lovely, extremely comfortable room with a large, very clean bathroom and well stocked, very reasonably priced mini bar. We have stayed at other places in Launceston but Auldington is where we come back to....

Only stayed for one night prior to our return to Melbourne on the ferry, we were with our family, including two grandsons. Both "rooms" were really suites, bedroom, sitting room with extra bed and bathroom, and the rooms were very spacious. Excellent clean rooms and bathrooms, lovely view front of hotel as its in an elevated position and nice garden,...

I love a private hotel and I haven't come across too many. The other is The Astor in Hobart which is wonderful. With The Auldington, there's a certain 'je ne sais quoi' which indicates style from a bygone era. There's not too much fuss, but a personal touch. James, the owner of the hotel is right there at Reception so...

We stayed at the premium suite and it was a very spacious and clean room with character too. The hotel is great location, close to the Cataract gorge and city. It has great views of the city. Affordable price. Great helpful staff. Definitely will stay here again when we come back to Launceston.

The suite is huge, modern and very quiet. The hotel is very well priced and actually comes in cheaper than others in the area that aren't nearly as good (at least in winter). The only staff I've dealt with so far has been James and he provided excellent recommendations for dinner and local attractions upon check in and was even...

A very comfortable place to stay, and close to town, the Auldington has plenty of character. Our room was a good size, and we looked out over the city. The room was well-appointed, with good heating (it was fairly cold while we were in Launceston so we needed the heating), comfortable bed and bedding, and a spacious bathroom. There is...

Initially booked one night accommodation but after checking in decided to extend our stay by an extra two nights. Very helpful staff who then upgraded us to a larger room with a bath in the ensuite. Very clean and comfortable, we made use of the reasonably priced mini bar and sat on the balcony watching the sun set over the...

Flying in from Perth we only arrived at close to 10pm and the after hours access was very easy using a key safe at the front door. We took the elevator up to our room on the third floor and as we hadn't been fed on the plane ordered a pizza from Dominos. We took this and a reasonably priced...

We stayed for two nights with our two boys in a King room with fold out sofa. The bed was comfortable and tvs in both rooms was handy at night. The only addition needed is block out curtains on the Windows, the blinds didn't block out enough light. Great location and friendly staff.

It's amazing how a couple of seemingly minor things can be all that sticks out in ones mind after a very nice stay at a hotel! You would think we would instantly recall the warm greeting we received on arrival or the excellent dinner recommendation. Or the sizeable suite of rooms we had that were everything we had hoped for,...

Hi WineTraveller, Thank you for your honest feedback. Regarding the free Wi-Fi, our telco advised us when installing our Wi-Fi system that an average person would use 30-40 MB per day on email and internet surfing. We multiplied that by a factor of 10 to get 300MB/day and we have recently increased that allocation even more to half a gigabyte...
